How to Save on Veterinary Costs at East Carolina Animal Emergency

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Staff is super friendly and informative! Anything emergency comes with a high price tag but my bill was reasonable for what was done. Super nice to have a place locally and not have to travel to VA!

We had to take our dog (Marley) here at 2am on a Sunday morning. Sadly he passed. However, these people are awesome. The were so caring and kind. We recently got a sympathy card from them. Put them as a contact on your phone today.

We took Gabby, our 9 month great dane, here at 2AM after she'd ingested underwear. The staff here is AWESOME! We've needed an emergency vet more accessible to Gates County, and I'm so happy you're here and close by. Thank you for the prompt and excellent customer service, I'll definitely be recommending to others!

Took my AMStaff Boots at 5AM this morning for swollen leg after getting into a Christmas day tussle. So thankful they were open to avoid driving to VA. The staff is great and the building is clean. Reasonable price for care and meds received. We were in and home in an hour. Highly recommend.

Called them this morning at 7:15. Our dog either broke or ripped off her nail and bleeding quite a bit. Was told that they had a busy night and were not going to see any more cases since it’s close to closing time. It was 45 minutes till closing and I live less than 10 minutes from them but they still refused to see her. They referred me to another vet who is closed and their on call doctor was on a trip. If your hours are 8pm to 8am there is no acceptable excuse for not seeing our dog. You are listed as an emergency vet and you failed to provide service 45 minutes before you were closing. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE BY ANY STANDARDS.
