How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Watauga Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Absolutely love Watauga Vet! They have the cleanest office and tech space by far. With even more updates to the clinic on the way. Dr.Fair is wonderful and got down in the floor to do an exam on my pit. Other offices have made her be put on exam tables which only scared her. The vet techs are so compassionate and friendly and the receptionist are super sweet and caring about any problem you may be having with your pet. There is nothing nasty or smelly about this office and the staff and vet are incredible!

I wouldn’t recommend especially if you have a cat. I was dismissed for my concerns and even laughed at when I showed a video of my cat coughing. Dr. Fair was kind to my cat but not thorough at all and did not help her feel better. After visiting another vet I learned Dr. Fair neglected to run necessary tests that could’ve help my cat a lot sooner. Also last time I was there a pet parent was having to put down their dog and the front desk/vet techs were gossiping openly about the woman crying. It’s an unclean and smelly facility and I wish I knew better before wasting time and money with them.

Dr. Fair and the entire staff are great. They spent so much time with our Shiloh Shepherd. They give excellent care, good prices and a follow up phone call.

If you want your pet to be well taken care of, this is definitely the place! Dr Fair is absolutely the best!! When she is with you, it’s like you are the only patients in the building! She is very thorough and answers all questions that you may have. She is a great surgeon too! She repaired our Isabella’s torn ACL with great results!! I don’t want to forget to brag on the staff. They are absolutely AWESOME! They have all become family to us!! We love all of them, and you will too!
