How to Save on Veterinary Costs at ASPCA Spay/Neuter Alliance

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Took my boy to get neutered the staff was very nice and I like the fact they come get them and bring them back to the vehicle so you don’t have to get out with kids. They give you detailed post op instructions and pain medication for free. They also have a 24 hour line you can call or text for post op questions or care, you can send pics of the incision if you are unsure if it is healing properly.

I took my dogs to get fixed and my dogs were healthy and up to date on shots and came home with kennel cough. Tried to talk to the staff to see if they could give me some antibiotics or something and I got told it’s my problem not theirs. Clearly they have a problem with it because this is clearly not the first time this has happened to someone. This is very unacceptable especially when they want to make sure animals aren’t sick before they take them.

They took such good care of my baby. He’s 3 & 1/2 years old and I was so nervous to have him neutered, but they were so reassuring and clearly care so much about every animal. When I dropped him off the vet tech picked him up out of the car and carried him in, and made him feel so comfortable from the start. When I came to pick him up at 3 the vet tech gave me lots of instructions for after care and also medicine to help with pain as well as medicine to calm him down for the next week since he’s a hyper baby. He was given updates on all his vaccinations, he was microchipped and they even trimmed and filed his nails. They even sent him home with a cone, which usually are expensive to buy! I actually ended up getting him a cushioned cone at Patton ave pets cause he’s a spoiled baby. All of this was a total of $100. I was skeptical because of such an affordable price but they couldn’t have done a better job with my boy. These vet techs really truly care and truly just love helping animals. Thank you aspca!
