How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Zeeland Veterinary Service

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

I have taken my golden retriever to Zeeland Veterinary since he was a puppy and they have always been really great. Last week he got neutered and they did an awesome job, you can barely see the incision and it is healing great. I definitely recommend taking your pet there!

0 stars Very very disappointed with how this office handled my dog when she was dying. They disregarded my best friend my dog.. They had no type of sympathy for what was happening and got mad when I was upset in the office . If you want a caring, compassionate loving vet… THIS IS NOT IT. Also please look at reviews on holland informed. Many other families seemed to agree with me as well. I recommend Hudsonville vet. Sad to see such a good office turn bad with such inconsiderate people.

My dog is dead because they didn’t tell us the side effects of a vaccine given. They gave my 14 year old shih tzu dog a lepto booster that he didn’t need without informing us the side effects or what the vaccine was for. The vaccine is made for dogs that roam in marshy areas which our dog did not. He was unable to walk within 12 hours, had a seizure within 30 hours and died within 48 hours of the vaccine. We assumed the vaccine was required and when we asked they told us it was required however after badgering them they finally admitted it was just recommended and not required. Upon doing a simple google search about the lepto vaccine you’ll see there are many dog deaths, mostly in older small dogs, however they claimed they knew nothing of that. If you bring your pets here make sure you ask, and make them tell you the possible side effects of the medicine given. Our beloved family dog is now dead because they didn’t care enough to explain pros and cons of the vaccine.
