How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Sterner Veterinary Livestock Professionals

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If we have a problem with one of our club lambs, I always bring my grandchildren with me; it is their fair project, the doctors and staff take the time to explain everything to the children. They also ask them questions and engage with them about their project. Every time we go it is a learning experience.

Went today because something was wrong with my goat. He ended up having to be put down. The entire team was BEYOND nice and helpful. I got in first thing in the morning, and I felt they knew exactly what they were doing and they did it well. I will be taking all my large animals to Sterners from here on out.

Very disappointed with sterner, we use to use them all the time when I was younger, this time had a cow down difficulty giving birth, noticed when I got home from work, cow was very stressed and weak, called and told I need to get her into a head gate and tie her up. And when i get her tied up call back, but after 4pm its emergency hours / rate this was at 250pm Cow was in barn "down" I ended with help of elderly parents pulling calf, which was already gone at this time sadly Hopefully the cow pulls thru stress and survive To me it seems like they are more for money now than actually animals

I love it when Doc Kehr takes his shirt off and assists the birthing of calves with nothing more than some chains and his God-given strength.... Maybe that's a different vet, either way Sterner County line is great. Use them for your large animal needs!
