How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Thomson Animal Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

My dog is very nervous and no other vet was able to get blood for her heartworm test… one place wanted to sedate her. This vet got it! The tech let my husband cuddle her and she used what she called a baby needle and drew from her back leg while another assistant fed her treats. She got the blood! And we finally got to get her on prevention. Is it pricey? Sure.. but, what isn’t these days really..

I took my dog to thompson animal clinic on Friday. I cannot give them a good Review. The new ownership is horrible, When it was under the last owners I've been going there. 20 years. Doctor Jill wouldn't even help me unless. I gave her 4 to $500 to test. If my dog has a urinary track infection. I told her I didn't have that money. She turned around walked away from me. I wouldn't recommend this clinic. I'm never going back. I've been going there for 20 some years. I will never go to this clinic ever again. When Doctor Munich had it under his name, it was great. He took the time to talk to you. Workout solutions to try to fit with in your budget.he put you on a payment plan ,if I didn't give this lady money, she wanted nothing to do with me. I would suggest taking my dog to an alley and having a stranger.Take care of my dog.Than I would doctor jill..very disappointed in this clinic. She didn't care about my dogs health, she only cared about the dollar ,shame on you Dr.Jill

Took my 5 year old beagle here yesterday. He was sick for a couple days. The doctor, with no testing, said he had Leptospirosis and suggested putting our baby boy to sleep or treating him at home but that the survival rate was low. They wanted $800 for this treatment which would have done nothing. I turned around and took him to another animal hospital because I had a bad feeling and didn’t trust her. The next doctor said that our dog showed no signs of Leptospirosis and it had to be something else. After some REAL testing, it turned out that he had a bad gall bladder and needed surgery. I am more than upset that someone would even suggest euthanizing an otherwise healthy dog with zero effort or knowledge of what she was saying. I will be contacting my credit card company and will seek whatever means to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else.

I would never ever recommend this facility to anyone. All they care about is the money not the animal. I had many bad experiences there. 1st was the removal of my Yorkies teeth. It was supposed to be 2 only. When done it was all except 2. Even after me calling twice telling the to call me before any decisions. No call just tool them all out. Then fought me on the bill. 2nd was every tinee I took my male dog in they wanted him heavily sedated. Even if I was willing to musle him. They were not nice to him and he remembered that. Last time was when my Yorky 17 yrars old needed to be put down. I called to see if they could. They said they would have to do a physical first then after that they would decide if she needed to be. She was 17 years old ,not eating, loom to of had a stroke and was done. All they wanted was office call. I am so disgusted with this place. Please don't take your fur baby there.
