Just want to give a shout out to the folks working here. We rushed our senior dog, Rio, into the clinic a couple weeks ago as he was suddenly having difficulty standing and breathing. They helped to diagnose him with an inoperable tumor on his heart and we had to make the impossible decision to let him go. We were/are devastated, but I’m extremely grateful that the staff here was so empathetic, respectful, and patient while we navigated this heartbreaking situation. They rushed to try to help him, they were patient as I repeatedly missed instructions and parts of the paperwork in the chaos of it all, they gave us space to say goodbye and grieve, and afterward sent a thoughtful sympathy card signed by all the staff. I know most pet owners will probably say the same, but Rio really was the most amazing dog. He was so loved and I wish you all could’ve gotten to see him when he was doing better. Thank you for your kindness.

I would give more stars if I could. I've taken my cat here twice and both times they were able to take her right back and start checking her out. Their prices were much more reasonable compared with other emergency vets I've been to and they did not do a lot of unnecessary testing to drive up the cost. They were still thorough and very caring to my kitty. They even clipped my cat's nails after I mentioned how difficult she is, without me even asking. Amazing service. The staff were also extremely friendly and kind to me, a very worried pet mom. Hopefully I won't have to take my cat to the ER very often, but if I have to in the future I know I'll take her to VES. Based on my experiences, I would highly recommend this place.

Such a great ER for your pets! I took my dog here last year and had a wonderful experience. Most recently i brought in my kitten who was very sick. I called 4 other ERs all around Metro Detroit and all had a wait of 6+ hours.We drove in the snowstorm and upon arrival we were checked (within a minutes) and treated all in about an hour. The staff was so polite, educated and comforting. Anytime i called back with a concern or question the Dr. answered everything i had asked. Happy to say shes feeling much better !!! Thank you!!!!Appreciate your service! :)

My senior dog had a small cyst that ruptured under his eye and was actively bleeding out at 11:30pm. I couldn’t stop the bleeding, so we drove to the ER. I was anxious as my senior dog also has NCL, a neurological disorder that gives him a wobbly walk and gait. They made his care accessible with a sling and listened to my concern and walked him gently back. They started his surgical removal immediately after letting me know the plan, and we were home in bed under two hours later. They were attentive, accessible to his disability, and showed care throughout the process. When I called my usual vet to set up a suture removal appointment, they had already received his paperwork from his ER visit, which was very helpful.

I don't feel like the staff here was compassionate to our situation with our poor baby, he for very sickly very quickly. The issue I had is that I took him on Monday, and they wanted to keep him overnight. It wasn't mentioned until after i signed the money that they aren't open Tuesday or Wednesday so in the event they wanted to keep him longer, he would need to be transferred which ultimately based on his labs he definitely needed to be kept longer and I think initially he should've been transferred and that should have been communicated to us. To withhold that information, and make us transfer our sick dog to a second vet place was just horrible. We were in so much stress and grief from the acute infection we truly did not look at the door for hours ourselves, we expected the doctor and staff to be upfront about that and they were not. In response to the response from the company- the doctor absolutely did not tell me that they could only keep my dog until 8am the next day due to them being closed for the next two days until after payment was surrounded. I am a PA myself and I know how important it is being forthcoming about all plans of care including estimated length of stay. The doctor initially told me they planned to keep him 24 hours and re-assess. Unfortunately; this turned into 12 hours as they would be closed.
