How to Save on Veterinary Costs at PetVet Vaccination Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I rarely leave reviews, but after spending nearly $700 at the PetVet vaccination clinic in late November 2025, I feel compelled to share my experience. Even after completing the pre-sign-up, the instructions were unclear, the check-in process was confusing, and there was no organization or communication from the staff member leading appointments. We ended up waiting over 90 minutes, and once taken to the back, things only got worse. The vet was unable to draw blood from our 85-lb dog... they attempted three times, and ultimately told us we could receive a refund. Then we were told it would only be a credit “for next time,” which makes no sense when the team couldn’t physically handle our dog in the first place. Their system is extremely clunky, and the staff seemed visibly frustrated trying to make simple edits on tiny iPads. Because everything is keyed in manually, it’s also very unclear what you’re actually being charged for. We were trying to use a coupon and there was no break down of charges until I asked. We paid for services for two dogs as well as a 12-month supply of NexGard because we were told there was a Black Friday sale. Two days later, we received an email from accounting saying we owed another $100. To date, that still hasn’t been resolved. The most upsetting moment was when the vet told us not to worry too much about our dog’s heartworm test because he “doesn’t have a long life expectancy anyway.” Our dog is a cancer survivor... this was incredibly insensitive given everything he has been through. The environment in the back also felt unsanitary, and overall the clinic seemed extremely disorganized, reactive, and unable to multitask or provide adequate customer service. We typically use a trusted local vet but came here because we were traveling for work and needed to catch the dogs up on vaccines. I expected a simple, quick process... instead, it was stressful, unclear, and ultimately disappointing. Based on this experience, I would not return and cannot recommend this clinic.

My only criticism is it started late. Other than that they did a excellent job. Quickly got my pup all her shots and chipped. And my other dog chipped.
