How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Bay Pines Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Greetings Bay Pines - recapping, I called at 8:20 (yes, 5 mins after my appointment time) and no staff answered the phone. I chose to hold per the phone prompts until it went to voicemail. I left a message. I called again and no staff answered. It's not intuitive to leave a voicemail and there is no prompt to say if you are in the parking lot waiting for your appointment to leave a voicemail. We lost our appointment after 5 minutes which seems to be a quite intolerant business practice. Even human medical appointments allow for arrival variances. Your text messaging system is excellent and helpful; however, no messages stated to arrive early for the appointment. It's assumed that I was to be in the parking lot at 8:15 rather than standing in the exam room with my dog. I did eventually walk in to the office after two unanswered phone calls to let you know we had arrived and was greeted with more intolerance to my situation. Overall, an unfortunate experience this morning. Do let Dr McDonald read this. He's a wonderful vet and a very nice person, I recall from last year; however, I'm not willing to remain a client due to the business practice that I experienced this morning. Please release our 10 am appointment. We won't be returning. We are going to give Little Traverse Bay Vet Clinic an opportunity to build an ideal relationship. They have very good reviews.

Once again, I was happy with our visit! From the front office girls, the vet techs to the doctors that we see, it was great! They treat my pets like they are their own and that is so appreciated! They take the time to answer any and all questions and are very knowledgeable. AAAA++++!

We have been bringing our French Bulldog Venice here for 3 years now. The staff is very kind and professional and our dog loves coming here.

Samantha was wonderful at check-in and pick up. She made us feel very comfortable leaving our dogs with Bay Pines over the extended weekend. Our dogs were dead tired when we got them back home which is a wonderful sign that they spent their time away playing, and taking walks! We will definitely be return customers!

Dr. Palo, Heaven, and the rest of the staff at Bay Pines always go above and beyond for my Labradoodle, Scotta, and cat, Jim Bean. Scotta is super a shy angel princess that is terrified of the vet and they are so kind and patient with her. They are also super patient with Jim who can be a total jerk. You can tell they genuinely care about each pet and are always willing to answer questions (I usually have a lot). Highly recommend Dr. Palo! I haven't talked to the other vets but I am sure they are just as great!
