Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

I generally don’t like to write reviews, especially if it was a negative experience but I have been mulling this over for a week now. We took our dog to the emergency part of the clinic last Monday for change in behavior and refusal to eat or drink (although he did eat a few treats for them while we were there). We knew things weren’t great for him. When we were waiting he was extremely anxious and barking a lot (not like him at all) My wife and I knew deep down that whatever was going on with him, he wasn’t going to pull through from and honestly prepared ourselves for him not to come home with us. Looking back, we don’t feel that the vet truly listened to our concerns about the behavior our dog was demonstrating but Out of the treatment options we requested an X-ray to make sure he wasn’t obstructed. Due to his behavior they were not able to get the imaging done. Due to the stress this was causing him we opted for a shot that was supposed to last 24 hours and some other medications for him. Roughly 12 hours later, he open his mouth and a dark fluid poured out (it was a lot) and he then couldn’t stop drooling this liquid and was lethargic/extremely weak. We rushed him to the emergency vet down in Portland due to the time of morning it was. He was examined, I showed them the same pictures I showed the vet the night before, and it was determined the best thing for him was to be put down. For the last 14 hours of his life, he suffered when he didn’t need to. The vet believed he had GI cancer with brain involvement. She assured us that sometimes in dogs it presents so rapidly that there really isn’t a treatment option for them.

CareVet got me in quickly when my normal vet was booked up. They were friendly and very helpful. Not every vet will take the time to talk through and discuss potential problems when you have a bulldog, but they understood and didn’t immediately blame everything on the breed. I would highly recommend anyone take their pet here.
