How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Acadia Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We are very fortunate to have Acadia Vet here on Mount Desert Island. When we first moved to the island, one of our dogs had an emergency. We were not even clients of Acadia Vet and they got us right in. The staff is very caring and treat your pets as if they were their own. Highly recommend Acadia Vet.

The staff is always so courteous to myself as well as my dog. They make you feel like you're a part of the family. They show so much compassion with my dog. Really sets me at ease. Knowing that I can trust them to take care of him if I was not there. They are the best and I only take my pet to the best. They proceed their reputation.

Every single time my cats or dogs have gotten sick or injured, he’s been able to make space for us to bring them in the same day. Some vets can make you feel rushed or not heard, but Dr Fine has never made us feel like that and always listens to our concerns.

The staff at Acadia VH is always kind and professional. After a vet appointment where my dog was very anxious, they recommended “happy visits” and those have helped tremendously! So grateful to have a veterinary clinic where everyone cares so strongly for my dog.

We have trusted Acadia Veterinary Hospital to care for our dogs for almost 23 years. They have treated numerous ear infections , diabetes , pancreatitis, seizures as well as providing well care office visits. When it comes time to say goodbye to our beloved dogs they are so kind and compassionate. Here’s Buddy, Duke, Lady , Max and Ruby. 3 year old old Max and Ruby are our 3rd generation of English Springer Spaniels.
