How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Veterinary Emergency Group

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

It wasn’t a cheap visit necessarily but than again, that’s standard in my opinion. I have never been to a vet urgent hospital before so I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was a rather cozy and comfortable, enjoyable place. I like the open floor plan, it makes it seem more inviting and less sterile than the vet. Everyone was so amazingly nice, loving and kind to me and my pet. I thought he was initially poisoned by lavender essential oils so they worked with the ASPCA. I found out he was suffering a back injury from a puppy attack a week prior and it had unexpectedly hurt his back seeing as he was an older dog. During the ex ray, you got to watch through a glass door which was definitely sad to watch as an owner but they were kind and I felt comfortable with the way they handled him. They really allowed me to be part of the process and I held him most of the time while they gave him pain medication and took blood. My dog was very anxious and they went out of their way to understand him on a personal level. They even gave me a blanket to cuddle him in. The location is secure and I felt safe within the place late into the night. While I hope I never need to go here again, I felt all the pet owners there seemed at ease making the sick pups at ease as well. I would definitely recommend them for emotional support of the pets and humans alike.

I couldn’t be happier with the care my dog was given. Not only did they take amazing care of my dog, they truly cared for me. My girl ate something and it got stuck on her tummy. She aspirated and got pneumonia. The doctors treated Storm like they were her own. I’ve never been to a vet where the workers were so kind, caring, and accommodating. They gave us our own room with a pull out couch. I never had to leave Storm alone. I was able to stay with her the entire time. I was there when she was prepped for surgery and I even got to watch them perform the surgery. I am beyond grateful. Other places in the area like falls road are a nightmare, here you will get excellent medical advice, excellent surgeons, and it feels more like a hospital for a person than dogs. We ended up having to go back because her pneumonia worsened. Luckily they took care of it quick. She is recovering nicely and I can’t thank VEG enough for saving my dogs life!!!

Our family cat of 14 years, Fluffy, suffered a traumatic injury requiring end of life care. The entire team's response was quick, compassionate, respectful, and professional. Everything i could hope for during such an emotional trial. Fluffy and my family thank you for your care.

The most surprising pet ER experience. Immediately greeted by a vet. Our kitten was very sick with a huge abscess and 105 fever. The team work was literally inspirational. We were able to stay with our kitten throughout all the testing and procedures. The pricing was COMPLETELY Transparent… I’m just so grateful they exist. Snowy is left without a fever and we all left completely grateful for their kindness and expertise.

The staff were very helpful with our little kitty, Paprika! She had eaten a stick and was recovering oddly after vomiting so we took her in for an evaluation. The Doctor and staff were so supportive and calming and very sweet to our girl. She was given an exam and then nausea medication (x rays were offered!) and we were out the door in under 25 minutes. I can’t underline enough the care demonstrated by the staff when gathering information and payment while the examination was happening. I felt just as taken care of as Paprika! It’s really good to know this place is nearby with staff that truly care!
