How to Save on Veterinary Costs at CVCA Cardiac Care For Pets
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I have visited CVCA many times with my dogs, the entire staff from the front desk to specialist has always been thorough, knowledgable, respectful and kind. I recently took my dog, Lexi to see the cardiologist for a possible heart murmur, he found nothing serious, just a mild heart valve issue. He made recommendations about food and a plan of action for more frequent heart exams with my primary veterinarian. I highly recommend this facility, it was worth the cost for peace of mind and a simple yet well informed plan of action.

Dr. Caine at CVCA has kept our Cavalier Rosie alive & well for much longer than expected and our family is forever grateful. He has managed her heart disease for over 6 years with various medications and adjusts them when needed. We highly recommend CVCA & Dr. Caine.

Dr. Tim Cain and his staff are wonderful. They are kind, thorough and knowledgeable and great with my senior dog who can get quite anxious. Dr. Cain made great recommendations and my dog continues to stay as healthy as possible. He also suggested some medication for my dog’s anxiety which worked very well for our most recent visit. The summary report you get after the visit is very detailed and they quickly answer any questions. Thank you CVCA Gaithersburg!
