How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Duxbury Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Five stars doesn’t even seem like enough to express how grateful we are to have found Duxbury Animal Hospital. We moved to the area about two years ago from across the country and chose a different vet at first. To make a long story short, the other vet had very poor communication and did not tell us our cat had stage 2 ckd until 6 months after diagnosis. Upset and feeling like we had to switch vets right away, we called Duxbury with some questions. Kathi was so kind and empathetic to us. She really took her time to listen to our concerns and go over their communication protocol with us. We ended up scheduling an appointment for the next day despite having just taken our cat for tests the weekend before so that a doctor could examine him and strategize on how to best manage where he is at. My husband and I have been blown away by our experience at Duxbury Animal Hospital so far. They manage everything with an app, so you have an extra layer of communication and organization. The facility is extremely clean and every single person we interacted with at the clinic was kind, attentive, and respectful to us and our cat. Dr. Baker listened to our concerns and went over the previous tests with us, educating us on what the results meant. We had another test done at the appointment and Dr. Baker called us the very next day to give us the results. He also said he would look into options for a food change and got back to us as promised after consulting a nutritionist. Our 15 year old cat means the world to us. All we could ever ask for was a vet that understands his importance to us and is aligned in helping us give him the best possible chance for a long, happy, and healthy life. It’s been a week since we switched to Duxbury, and we believe we have found everything we have been looking for.

Since we brought our dog home at 9 weeks old, we have brought her to Duxbury Animal Hospital. She is now 3 years old and at each visit we find the entire staff warm, welcoming and extremely knowledgeable. As a pet owner, it is important to have confidence in your veterinarian. That’s why we take our Millie here. Also, Millie loves Dr. Shepard!!

Thank you to Duxbury Animal Hospital and Dr. Dinan for getting my little old lady Viivi in quicky to be seen for a needed dental and a small mass removal. I'm always nervous when my pups need anesthesia but I was comfortable and confident that she was in the best hands. She is feeling pretty good already today and snuggling up with lots of blankets and her lamb chop. Friendly staff and clean hospital. Just wish you weren't so far away!

Dr. Baker is a great doctor and he will answer all my questions. He considers what I think. My dog is a very nervous dog and won't even let people pet him but Skippy will let Doctor Baker open his jaw wide to examine his teeth without any struggle.

It was a great experience from the moment my dog and I walked in the door. My dog is not the best with initial greetings, but everyone was quite understanding and handled him great from the receptionist to Tech. Dr Dynan was just what I was looking for to treat my dog's arthritis. It's clear she has a great depth of knowledge and explained details/options very clearly. I look forward continuing my dog's care here!
