How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My dog, Chloe, recently died 3 days after receiving the Librela shot at another clinic. The practice manager at Capital Heights, Marie-Lise Discher, made a public Facebook statement, to me, stating that she was a practice manager and that she had educational classes and extensive training on Librela at her clinic. She said that the side effects that my dog experienced were not from the Librela shot but from a pre-existing condition, in which my dog did not have. My case is under investigation with Zoetis/FDA. Their opinion is the one that matters. I think it was very unprofessional that Marie-Lise Discher took it upon herself to pour salt in my wound. Her actions reflect back to Capital Heights. Maybe train her on how to treat someone who is grieving. 🤐

I recently had to say goodbye to my best friend of 15 years at Capital Heights. We were not regular patients here but they took excellent care of her and made the whole process as painless for both of as they possibly could.

I mistook this for the one that does surgey. That mistake by me aside, the vet was incredibly nice. Explained everything that was going on and our options in great detail. At no point did we feel rushed or that we weren't being listened to. If we had started bringing our dogs here as puppies I would never change vets. If you go, say hi to Piper for us.
