How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Erlanger Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Every time we go to Erlanger Veterinary Hospital we receive the best care possible!! We have been going to Erlanger Veterinary Hospital for 40 years! Dr. Schuman is great and if he is not available we are confident that Koda will be in good hands with who ever he sees!

Excellent place for exotics. Dr. Vecchione treats Peanut and me with the utmost respect. She answers all of my questions with patience and kindness. She understands my anxiety about Peanut and goes above and beyond to research any concerns that I have and provide him with the best care. All of the staff are respectful and courteous.

i want to thank EVERY member of the staff for all the love and compassion they showed me during such a difficult time. My sweet dog was attacked and rushed in and they immediately responded not only to him but made sure to take the time to comfort me during such a traumatic situation. the outcome was not what i had hoped it would be for my sweet Ty but the way the Dr. and his staff did everything possible, i couldn’t have asked for a better team. they allowed all the time i needed to be with him before surgery and allowed me to come and say my final goodbyes to him. i’m so thankful for that because he looked so peaceful and pain free in our last moments together. the staff arranged for his cremation and when i picked up his remains they even gave me a clay mold paw print of my sweet boy. he was the best dog and we shared the most joyous 14yrs together. thank you again to all the staff for the love and support and understanding they showed me and my family. 5 stars is just not enough for you and all you do for our pets.

I’ve been taking my ferrets here for 3-5 years. I feel like the quality of their service & attentiveness has declined in that time (while costs have increased). They’re fine for getting prescriptions & basic things, but I trust Grady’s more with diagnosis of illnesses, bloodwork, & emergency care. I appreciate their help over the years, but I don’t think I’ll be returning
