Two of my dogs got into some medicine meant for humans, and after calling around to different emergency veterinary offices, these kind people were able to get us in immediately as we arrived. They treated our pups with a level sense of urgency and care as if they were their own. The entire staff was wonderful and VERY communicative the entire time, even when we had to leave one of the dogs overnight. Unfortunately one of our girls passed due to the amount of medication she ingested and the other was in their ICU for 3 days. I know for a fact that if it weren't for their swift action and collaboration with pet poison control, our sweet Darby would not have made it through the first night. She has been home for a few days now and is back to her bubbly self. Veterinary services are pricey - especially emergency veterinary care. Thankfully they accept CareCredit, which was (literally) a lifesaver. I really cannot thank these guys enough for everything they did for us!

My dog was experiencing a plethora of problems and they got her in right away, unfortunately the problems were so severe that she had to be put down which was so devastating for me. They were so calm, patient, understanding and kind. They let me hang out in a room with her by myself and just spoil her and love her for as long as I wanted to. When I was ready they let me hold her while she passed away. It was such a tragic experience that brought me a lot of peace by the way she and I were both treated.

Could not recommend this Emergency Vet more!! Had to come in close to midnight due to our old boy having a prolonged seizure. The staff is quick to act in an emergency and so incredible kind!! When the doctor came in he led with kindness, possible solutions, and didn’t harp on the negative. Was straight forward when answering question and empathetic when we decided to put him down. Again can’t say enough how kind and gentle the staff were. We got a private room to say goodbye ❤️ a few days later we received this card in the mail. Such kind people work here and it shows how much they not only care about your pet but also you ❤️ I hope the staff reads the reviews! I wish I could remember the names of the two nurses that helped with intake and the doctor. Thank you so much for your kindness in a time of fear and sadness. Your attitudes, actions, and reassurance made putting down our sweet 17 year old black lab down as easy as it could be ❤️

I had a very good experience here last night! My dog, a chihuahua, got attacked by a neighbors pitbull that jumped over the fence in the afternoon while I was walking my dog on the leash. After the attack my dog seemed shocked but she wasn’t bleeding or anything. After I got back from work I realised she was in much pain and screaming everytime I lightly pet her. So I called an emergency vet at Mission, KS to ask for advise and the lady told me to come immediately which I did. After a 40 min drive around midnight now a rude lady at the front desk told me that my dog doesn’t need “immediat attention” and they won’t check on her at this time. I would have been fine to wait with a not bleeding dog although their waiting area was almost empty. But she pretty much kicked me out and told me to “try my luck” at the emergency vet in overland park, which I then did. She probably wasn’t seeing the big dollar signs since my dog is just a little chihuahua or something like that. After another 20 min drive I arrived at Overland park. When I entered here, the 2 ladys at the front desk asked what brought me in. I explained what happened being absolutely exhausted and in tears, worrying about my dog Taffy. They took my case very serious and I handed Taffy over to a vet tech not even a minute later after I arrived. She was immediately taken to an exam room while I was filling out their papers with mine and my dogs information. Their location was way busier than the one in Missin. Of course I waited awhile but I really didn’t care I know Taffy was well taken care of in the exam room and I’m sure other dog owners that got there before me had worse cases. Thank the lord she didn’t have any fractures and they gave me some medicine for a probably pinched nerve that is causing her pain. Of course she is not absolutely fine a day later but this in non of their staffs fault. The price for this entire procedure was absolutely reasonable and my neighbor just paid me back for the vet costs that I had here. All in all they are very very caring and huge shoutout to the 2 ladys at the front desk working last night. They told me multiple times that it was good that I came, that a dog attack is 1 priority for them although she wasn’t bleeding. I really admire them for being sooooo friendly at 3 in the morning and I hope they will read this review and will know how thankful I am! I would drive the extra miles anytime from now on and come to overland park instead of Mission incase of an emergency! Thank you to the entire team!!!

Aww isn’t he cute?! Reminder that 3 or 4 years ago, the vets at this office pressured me to put him down. My perfectly healthy cat. They completely ignored me, didn’t take a prior history, made hasty conclusions, and then BEGGED me to euthanize him. I have a masters degree with a focus on animal anatomy and physiology but I shouldn’t have to say that to be listened to, so in this case I didn’t. I decided to just take him home despite the vet insisting “He’s going to die tonight for sure”. Despite the nurses being catty and whispering behind closed doors “she’s killing that cat” (just loud enough that I could hear) and then giving me stink eyes. I did that because I knew they hadn’t listened to me. Hadn’t been diligent investigative doctors and had just read a single line on his chart and made assumptions. He was perfectly fine the next morning. I repeat: HE WAS PERFECTLY FINE THE NEXT MORNING. All of these photos have been taken in the years since and he’s currently purring on my feet several years later with no further health issues or intervention. BECAUSE HE WASN’T EVER DYING. Reading through other more recent reviews, this doesn’t seem isolated. A few other people have said they weren’t listened to, that the previous records were not checked and that wishes were ignored. Maybe they’re alright if a dog breaks its leg or something that’s a simple emergency, but I would personally avoid giving them business at all costs. It seems to me that in their company culture “emergency vet” means I don’t have to do a history, check paperwork, listen to owners, or any of that boring stuff. Just cut, clean, and k!ll.
