How to Save on Veterinary Costs at First Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Rydberg has been my vet for 40 years and has taken care of every pet I've ever had. He's amazing, kind and gentle and completely knowledgeable. There is no one better.

My family has been coming here for almost 30 years. I grew up tagging along to vet visits for the family dogs and now as an adult bring my own dogs to see Dr. Rydberg & my parents continue to bring their own. Over the years he's cared for all 9 of our different dogs ranging from large American Bulldogs to a little Pug mix. He's so good at what he does, he has so much experience. He doesn't overdo treatment requests to pocket more money nor overcharge. He's been very good to our family. I also have to mention the wonderful ladies at the front desk or who have assisted in the back. They've always been awesome and so kind. It's going to be a sad day for so many of us when he closes his practice.

Just took Archie here for the first time and he loved Doc and her nurse!!!! He didn’t show signs of nervousness or anxiety to leave, just stood with the ladies as if he was showing off his coat, her presence made him very calm. She also immediately sent detailed notes about the visit to my email so I can keep track of what was said, weight, any noticeable concerns, food type etc. I’ve never had that thorough of an appt follow up before. I am very happy we visited here and plan to use this vet anytime we need someone to take a look at our maltipoo.

If you're looking for a sparkly waiting room with state-of-the art machinery, this is not that. Dr. Rydberg charges for services not glamour. So, if you are looking for a phenomenal veterinarian who loves animals more than people and knows his stuff inside out and backwards, this is that. Love this man!
