How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Fox River Animal Wellness Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

Cares about YOUR ANIMAL !!,doesn't sugar coat things to make YOU happy or feel comfortable ...and as an animal lover myself I understand why. If you want to be welcomed with a smile bringing in your SICK pet and expect her to be nice about why and how your pet is in it's condition.....by all means try the big name vets . But if you CARE about your pets overall health I STRONGLY suggest you LISTEN to what she is saying to you . Doesn't matter how it happened or why she just needs the whole truth to know what your pet is suffering from. She may not even like you , but I guarantee SHE will be the one who CAN SAVE your pet .blunt and direct in best intrest for the ANIMALS WELLNESS.... true to her business and ever since she is the only person I can actually trust to have my Luna's BEST interest in mind. God bless you Dr Rykoff!! Luna is now 5 yrs after being diagnosed with parvo as a puppy , and now has puppies of her own.

I was just calling trying to make an appointment but was spoken to very rudely. The receptionist was very hostile towards me only because I was trying to explain what I was trying to get taken care of. Appointment coming up I hope they are nicer in person 🙏🏾

I have known this vet for going on 30 years or more. She is kind, considerate, and gives it to you straight. I don't know another vet who is more compassionate. HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!

Dr. Rykoff has quite the heart for animals and has a warm presence. She genuinely wants to give them a chance to live good and healthy lives. I appreciate her holistic approach to healing and her continued communication and focus even after the visit with any questions I had. I will keep going back to her for my cat needs

Dr. Rykoff , Very unprofessional, takes forever to returns calls or doesn’t call you with test results. Was fishing around with my baby to draw his blood, doesn’t wash hands and test are inconclusive. After all that fishing to draw blood high cost on labs for nothing. The place is dirty and smells like ammonia.
