How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Tyler Veterinary Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

They were all so nice and my dog who is a rescue and has experienced a lot of abuse from men was completely fine with the male vet and male vet tech. She didn't growl at them or anything. They were gentle with her and my cat. I've been told my cat is sick and spent thousands with another vet from them to find absolutely nothing wrong. This vet told me he's just a very small framed cat. He isn't long, isn't tall, so of course he weighs less, but he's healthy and fine. Even told me his teeth look good for his age. I've never been told anything positive about my little old guy, always that he's sick and been told I need to have multiple tests done. Happy we made the change!

Been going to Dr. Tyler for 15+ years and he and his staff never disappoint. Had a pet urgency today with a new pet and they got me right in. They are always so patient and kind with every pet I've had, from my Rottie to my cats. Thank you to the Tyler Veterinary Clinic Team!

Guy knows his stuff. Literally saved my cat of 12 years. Two tumors removed. He is a no nonsense tell you the truth. My cat is very unstable and he easily took control and did his job. I was so pleased with the way he handled my cat. Very important surgery, and he was honest about the outcome which by the way has been very good.
