How to Save Money at Spring Hill Veterinary Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Spring hill's entire staff are amazing people. They take very good care of both my dogs and treat them like family. My male needed emergency surgery on Saturday morning and they were able to squeeze him in on a last minute 11am appointment. They were completely booked and closing at 1pm but they still accommodated us and for that I am truly grateful! Cost could have been crazy had I taken him to a Hospital. 10 days later he had to go back for suture removal and was completely healed. Dr. Erin, Dr. Amy, Adam and Jeremy, thank you for all that you do for us! Love, Monza and Mika! ♥♥

Was having a hard time finding a bird vet near by. After looking at reviews for other vet clinics I came across this vet and majority of reviews were good. Decided to give it a try; was a little confusing getting there close to arriving my GPS took me in a odd circle. I called to let them know and the receptionist Karen was super nice and understanding. I was greeted upon arriving inside the building and explained of the available vets and 2 of which see birds. Did not take long waiting and Jeremy the technician was super friendly and my daughter thought he was funny. Super friendly person and great with children and animals. Makes you feel very welcomed as well as the vet Glenn. Very nice man and definitely took his time examining my bird and addressed my concerns. I really liked this place and everything was very clean. Towards the end of my visit another receptionist lady walked me out and was very nice. Very good customer service experience! I would def recommend and price is reasonable.

I just became a new patient at this facility. I had a sick dog that they worked into they’re already packed schedule. Dr. Amy was kind and wonderful and so was the vet tech that assisted. They treated us like we were regular all time customers here, not newbies.

I took my dog in originally after moving. She became very ill in August so I took her in. I spent nearly $2,000 on trying to find answers on what was happening with my dog. After testing was done I was told I would be called with the results but was not. I had to call them and ask about the results and they claimed that they just received them. Strange to receive the results right when I had called. I then decided to get an ultrasound done to make sure we were covering all the bases. I asked for the images from the ultrasound and was told multiple times that I would be emailed them. I then called multiple times and on the last time was told there are no images from the ultrasound. They used the excuse of “well must have been one of our new employees” who blatantly lied to me. I absolutely do not recommend this clinic nor will I ever return there with my dog. Having to chase them down for results and being lied to has made me lose all trust in this clinic. I will be taking my dog else where and so should you.

I brought in my dog, Calista for an ongoing respiratory issue and an ear that seemed to be bothering her. My dog is very skittish and they treated her with love and respect. The doctor was the first in several years that was able to diagnose the ongoing respiratory problem. He prescribed medication that seems to be working. They also flushed out the ear that was causing some discomfort. I am very grateful for the care and personal attention my furry family member received.
