How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal Medical Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

We took our collie in to get spayed. Healthy as can be never had a single issue prior to this. Go to pick her up the day after the spay an her incision is bleeding terrible an her right front paw is completely limp. They say oh just must be sore from the IV. Next day still won’t put any pressure on it take her back an they charged us 250$ an said it’s some underlying joint problem she had prior too sergury an sent us home. I knew that wasn’t the issue Rush her to isu an they had to staple up her incision and said the trauma that causes her leg to have no nerve feeling is only seen in car accidents and animals hit by cars. By this time her paw an leg are black an dying An that her leg would have to be amputated asap. This whole time Sarah nor Jerry or anyone from the clinic called to check in on the dog nor did they have any explanation as to what happened to my dog. Just acted clueless. We’ve taken our animals here for years along with friends an family an were treated like they could care less. This is the first bad review I’ve ever written for any business but I think others should be Leary on taking anything here.

The staff at animal medical clinic are always friendly, professional, and adaptive if your pet has an emergency. They offer peace of mind when you are going through the most stressful of times. I will never go elsewhere for all my pet care needs.

We've been bringing our pets here for years. They do a great job and get to know you as well as your pet. You can tell that everyone who works here loves their job. They even have a few "office cats", so they love animals and caring for them.
