How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Pacific Animal Eye Care

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Best experience for my chow chow boy. We went in on a Monday and they were able to do the surgery on Tuesday. Extremely grateful ‼️💖✅ my boy no longer squints! So happy because I was worried about overcorrection but Dr did an amazing seamless job ! So impressed !

Back in April my dog started having some eye issues. I took him to his vet over a few weeks with no improvement. Eye removal was pretty much on the table. I was referred out to Pacific Animal Eye Care. At this point, stitch was having all kinds of things coming out of his eye. Dr. Roybal treated with an aggressive eye drop and oral regimen over the next few months. Today (end of July), Stitch had his last appointment and his eye has significantly improved. Dr. Roybal explained everything, every step of the way and was even available a few times when I had questions from home. All the staff are so kind, helpful, and professional! Not gonna lie, I was scared of the cost, but it really was not what I thought - much better than an eye removal that’s for sure! So happy we came here! Highly recommend!! Included two before pictures and two from today!

Dr.Roybal and the entire staff at pacific animal eye care are all extremely exceptional people, who all seemed to care about my pet as much as I do. Their correspondence even outside of visits showed that they love their job and don’t just do it for the money. Thank you pacific animal eye care from me and Lazar!

Friendly, caring, and professional animal ophthalmologist. My Kapolei vet recommended them in an emergency for our cat who scratched his cornea. They fit me in for an appt. the next day. It was a long drive, but it was worth it. They treated Milo with empathy and I would recommend Dr. Roybal.
