How to Save Money at Campbell Veterinary Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Great clinic and staff. They take walk ins only (not by appointments) which we absolutely love and the prices are the very best . Dr. Campbell and staff are on top of the latest advancements in medicines and can clearly explain. The check in app. is very helpful! We Highly recommend and will continue to keep him as our golden doodles Dr.

Dr. Campbell has been caring for my pets for over 15 years. We first seen him in Gordon, then Milledgeville, and now Eatonton. I have been taking my chickens to him for 14 years. I love the staff and the care my pets get here. I drive almost a hour to have my pets seen about.

Our cat had knocked over a container of small nails and appeared to be I’ll the next day. Took her in to get an X-ray. The staff were great. They kept me informed as the tests were done. She had not ingested any nails but turns out she had a bladder infection. They treated her for that and about 2 days later she was 100% better. Great staff and Doctor kept me informed as to what was going on. Hidey was very relaxed with them as they carried her around for tests.

This veterinarian office was very professional. They had a very accommodating waiting room and the staff was super friendly and helpful when assistance was required. The wait was not to long not more than 20 minutes and the Vet was very kind and gentle with our dog. I recommend this place for anyone who has furry friends in need.

The doctor approaches your 4-legged baby, taking time to deliver heart-felt loving & sincere gentleness. He Discusses & Explains both, diagnosis & prognosis, leaving you w few, if any, any questions at all. * One year ago about this time, i found this older female dog barely able to hold her own head up with almost all hope left in her eyes. Beyond her head I only saw her shoulder bones spinal column her ribs her hip bones entire back down to her hips. Then I noticed her skin, which was covered what seemingly appeared to be a chemical burn under her spout, covering her undercarriage completely. Then I noticed her thinning hair. I called Campbell's immediately, and they said, ".....no appointment needed bring her in...." Upon arriving, I expressed my concern with cost. She said not to worry, we will work with you. after much work and tests, she was going to be able to be adopted. That visit should have cost hundreds of dollars it didn't, it wasn't close. I was so relieved. *However, I do worry about the stray/feral cats that live, reside here. The businesses here see them as a problem and dont want you to help them. These kittens, juveniles along w their mother are in constant fear, having to be aware at all times. And there isn't a mean bone in their body. They fear you they run from you because they don't know who or what you are. Feral cats can become domesticated. all it takes is some attention with a low-keyed sweet voice, at a distance. Depending how frequently your voice is heard, is how and when they approach you. With each visit they'll get closer and then one day, they will come up to you and rub against your leg, but don't rush to pet them back. Be slow about it. And it's with that first touch when they feel love, they want to give it, and so much love it is. Ferals can be domesticated. They didn't willingly show up here to be alone and Loveless the rest of their life. Unfortunately, sadly it all began with the abandonment of cats. The abandoned Homeless Cat would have litter litter upon litter hence bringing the feral cat to life, a Loveless, lonely life.
