How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Douglas Oaks Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Wonderful, caring people! The doctors and staff are truly dedicated to providing the best care for your pets. They have helped us out many times to provide the best and most cost effective care for our dog. We've been with them for many years now including several years with the previous owners who were just as caring. Our girl recently passed away (she was nearly 15 years old) and they were really great in helping us deal with her loss. They get my highest recommendation.

They are quick to respond and will get you in quickly as well. I have no complaints besides the prices. They seem a little high but not the worst, and then the fact that they will not call in prescriptions. Other than that, it's great. Staff is friendly, my cats seem pretty comfortable, of course the first time they are going to hesitate. They have saved both of my cats from feeling ill. They will send you reminders to update vaccines. They do really seem to care about their patients and this I am grateful for!!!

I love it here. Friendly, professional, and helpful when I ask questions about the care of my fur babies. They tell me what’s optional and what’s absolutely needed for the best care. Needed shot records for groomer recently and it was emailed over within minutes by Maddie
