How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Critter Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

The best and most caring vet I’ve ever known. Innovative and caring with great prices. Saved my pet when others did nothing.

I very much appreciate that they offer veterinarian care at such an affordable price. They could be charging much more but instead Dr Lent is giving back to the community. Like any vet office my cat did not enjoy the experience but Dr Lent was very experienced and got all her shots done as quick as possible. He even opened the front of the carrier before he started so my cat could run and curl up as soon as we were don’t with her, which she did.

Extremely simple office setting, yet completely professional and very friendly staff, as well as a vet who has practiced more than 50 years. Dr. Lent is very efficient, knowledgeable in his use of cutting edge treatments and techniques, and above all very kind. His matter-of-fact manner can make him seem gruff or standoffish, but his compassion for and capability with animals is unsurpassed. This doc is very up front about fees and will never employ unnecessary measures, testing, or extraneous charges. I recommend this clinic above any in the region. Though the same level of care may be available in other vet offices, you'll be selling a kidney to pay for what your pet actually needs and selling your firstborn to pay all the over-the-top additional charges for any variety of unnecessary testing, procedures, or other measures. Best ever. I've personally been a patron of his for over 20 years, even when I lived a 7-hr drive away.

Dr. Lent wasn’t all too bad. He was in no way gentle with the animals, but knew what he was doing enough to where he didn’t get hurt, and just made our pets uncomfortable. His receptionist is about as abrasive as a person can get and made sure that I knew how much I inconvenienced her by asking for my cat’s records. Overall cheap enough to justify a stop, just morally less than ideal.
