How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Murray County Veterinary Services

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Switched from our normal vet of several years because they were closer, and we had all 3 of our dogs annual rabies. They did 2 months heartworm, took our money for it with no problem, but now state they need a test on heartworms in order to get the next round of treatment. Said if they took the meds without a test it could kill our dogs. Yet we were sold 2 months worth with no test, no concern for our dogs then. Endangered their lives. I really liked going here, our pups did too. But that sheer incompetence in their receptionists own words could have killed them. We will not be taking them back and i absolutely do not recommend them. We'll resume the drive to Dalton to our previous vet.

They're always good to my animals and to us. We've gone there for the past 10 years, maybe more. They've handled everything from a routine check up to full blown emergencies. We love them!

Love the service but they only have one vet currently so appointments aren't as easy to get

This is where I take my two dogs and cat. They take great care of all my fur-babies! The staff is friendly and knows all my animals by name. They answer any concerns I might have and I feel like I'm getting the very best care for my pets. I've been with them for over three years now and don't plan to change that anytime soon!
