How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Athens Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Cown and his team always take great care of my cat. They are super friendly and very efficient. Haven't ever had to wait more than 5minutes during appointments. Thank y'all so much!

If you appreciate one-vet clinic and a dedicated vet that is, who also tries to keep prices fair, this is your place, (Dr. M.Cown). I have been going for years and with 4 different dogs, including papers to take dogs abroad, neutering, and referrals to internal vets. Nobody has forced services on me or monthly tests of all sorts, no annoying pressing mails or emails, no BS. I appreciate that. The staff has been consistent as well, which is important as they are equally important for follow-ups. Also, if you are a Spanish-speaker only, they'll understand you.

Best vet I have ever had. He is extremely knowledgable, kind, and caring. My 7 year old cat began having unexplained symptoms that eventually led to us having to put him down, but Dr. Cown tried everything possible to figure out what was going on and even called to check in on him a couple times during that stressful week. I am forever grateful for his kindness. His staff is wonderful as well. I would highly recommend!
