How to Save Money at Pebble Creek Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

We always take our cat to Pebble Creek Animal Hospital when she needs medical attention. We had a great experience with the hospital staff who were polite and helpful. They reminded us of our appointment and assisted in scheduling it to fit our day's requirements. The offices were clean and well-maintained, which we appreciated. Additionally, our pet's appointment was successful thanks to their assistance. Our cat was under the care of Dr. Garcia, our trusted pet doctor. He provided excellent treatment and administered all necessary vaccinations. Our furry friend always received quality care, whether in sickness or in health. Pebble Creek Animal Hospital not only provides veterinary services but also offers excellent boarding facilities for dogs. It is a highly recommended option for pet owners in need of veterinary care.

My dog has some pretty bad vet anxiety. I used to take her to another AH in the area and every time I went I felt like the staff was annoyed by my dog’s discomfort at the vet. I always walked away feeling like a bad pet parent. They wouldn’t be gentle or mindful of her anxiety. So, I decided to try Pebble Creek Animal Hospital to see if maybe the new environment would feel better to her. She was still nervous as I’m sure all vets have the same energy to them in the eyes of a pet. However, the staff at this location understood her anxiety, were kind, and gentle with her. I had Dr.Sullivan and she was absolutely amazing. She took the exam very slowly with Olive, never made Olive leave my side and kept me involved in the process to ensure her comfort. She gave Olive lots of pets and treats throughout the whole exam. They discussed everything we needed to do, walked me through billing before doing anything and overall made the experience really pleasant and as comfortable as possible for Olive. That’s all I could’ve asked for!! Thank you guys for your amazing service!

My dogs and I had a WONDERFUL first experience! I first started off by calling to see if they had any same day appointments, that's when I met Miranda. She is the most sweetest and personable person ever. She was able to get me a same day appointment with Dr. Fisher. Dr. Fisher is excellent! You can really tell she loves animals. My babies loved her! She was very patient and kind and answered ALL of my questions (trust me, I had a lot lol). Both ladies gave very detailed answers to my questions and I loved that! They are so good at explaining things. The hospital was very clean on the inside and the outside. The prices are very affordable too. I'm glad to have found a new permanent home for my fur babies. This is by far the best vet they have been to. Thanks so much! xoxo Precious, Gucci & Chanel.

Thank you so much for saving my dog’s life! My dog went to the emergency vet at 2am and was then discharged saying she would be okay but we needed to go to our regular vet in the morning. My dog, Adobe, started getting much much worse at home and her situation was turning dire. Our regular vet (Blake Veterinary Hospital, who state on their website they are ready and equipped for all of your emergency and critical needs) turned us away and didn’t even offer any solutions for where we could try to go. They were very rude and dismissive. Thankfully after calling a handful of vets, someone told us to try Pebble Creek. The kindness that Pebble Creek has shown has been amazing. We weren’t even clients here and they took Adobe right away and saved her life. The vet even personally called me every few hours to give me updates on her condition. The compassion they have is unmatched. We will be permanently switching to Pebble Creek. I cannot recommend them enough.
