How to Save Money at Veterinary Emergency Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I brought my dog in on Saturday afternoon with wounds received from another dog's bite. The clinic was busy but tried to accommodate all of their patients and their owners. The staff was professional and courteous. Veterinarian explained everything that she was doing. The overall visit was not too long. It seemed pricey for the care but I honestly do not know the emergency vet market. overall very satisfied with the Emergency Vet Clinic

I was blessed with my sweet precious Baylei May from day she was born and for the past 12 yrs 7 months she was my best friend, my side kick and #1 in my life every single day. On June 28, 2025 my whole world turned upside down when I had to rush her to the emergency vet and say my final goodbye to my baby girl. From the moment I stepped in the doors of this office with my Baylei May in my arms the entire staff was right there to help my baby. They were also SOOO compassionate, understanding, professional, patient & caring to me the entire time. Although I had to make the HARDEST decision of my life and leave without my baby girl that night…I am & always will be FOREVER thankful for the Dr., her assistant & the rest of the staff at this facility for everything they did for my Baylei May & myself! Y’all are amazing! Love Always, Miss Baylei May’s Mama (Whitney)

Labor Day weekend. Are Australian Shepherd went into epileptic seizures, We were completely new to this never had experienced this with her before. I called Saturday morning at 8 am they told me bring her right in. I carried her from bed to my car and drove her there instantly, walked inside told them, I just called about my Australian Shepherd having a seizure, They asked if she still seizing, (YES). these girls (2) dropped everything and ran to grab her from my vehicle. Took her from my hands and got her to treatment instantly. After Many tests, being watched over for 24 hours, and a ton of care from the staff. We’re heading down the correct road 4 days later and we saw her normal veterinarian this week too who said wow she’s doing great today after what she went through this past weekend. I CAN’T thank this staff enough for saving our little girl who was lifeless when she got carried into the hospital. Sassy is on her way to a full recovery and being taken care of very well today. Thank you ALL VEC DR’S and staff who dropped everything for our girl. Sincerely Michael & Nicole Sobrower

I would highly recommend this vet clinic. We had an emergency situation last Friday evening with our dog, Mimzy (15 years old) related to health problems she had been experiencing for several months. Sadly, we never came home with Mimzy that evening. Despite this unplanned visit, Dr Annie and all the staff there that evening were very warm, compassionate, comforting, and accommodating. It was a very peaceful experience, and we know in our hearts we made the right decision to let Mimzy go. We even received a hand-written card by mail with a copy of Mimzy's paw prints to remember her by... so very thoughtful. Thank you. RIP Mimzy, you will always be remembered and forever in our hearts. Took my wee little man in this morning and knew he wouldn’t be coming. It was a heartbreaking time because he had been my constant companion for 18 years. The staff was extremely caring and compassionate during our time there and in the handling of my little guy. There was no rushing just caring. Highly recommend.
