Very pleased with the care that my mare received this week at the Ocala Equine Hospital. Dr. Tull and his team removed her sinonasal cyst and did a great job. I felt like the staff cared for her and communicated well with me throughout the week!

Dr. Madison and Dr. Lugo are top notch. The staff is always professional and friendly. I wouldn't take my horses anywhere else for hospital care.

Come last Friday we had a horrible pasture accident with our old lady. Our vet wasn't in town, ok just send a vet out as we had a horse with gaping wound around 1/3 of her hoof. We had already properly wrapped her leg to help stop the bleeding. They sent what I assume is intern vet, which I would have gladly waited for a vet who didn't have to confer with a more vetty vet to get a proper diagnosis on our mare. Really? Anyways, she undid our bandages to look at the wound and she went white in the face. Her hands were shaking as she clamped the artery. Mind you my mare is still peeing blood from vessels and the wound itself. She proceeds to take a picture and confer with another vet which this took 20-30 minutes for her to get a response and come back to our mare all the while she's just peeing blood from her wound. We are all first aid trained and certified, so we were preplaxed as to why she just let my mare continue to bleed. She finally then stinted her leg to stop the bleeding and ran strong antibiotics. Now I know baby diapers are absorbent and are great dealing with abscesses and stone bruises but not a frickin major gapping wound! Her diaper, duct tape, elastic smorgasbord of a bandage job was leaking and absolutely doing nothing, honestly. We ran to OBS for extra dressing as we were not prepared for a major injury of this magnitude. Came back and did a proper job of bandaging her hoof, no leaks where blood could get out or dirt gets in. The intern told us two grams of bute daily along with some stronger antibiotics other than SMZs. The bute wasn't lasting so I split her dose up into 12 hour intervals of roughly a gram to a gram and half in each interval, she was finally comfortable. A few days later our vet came out for a check up. By this time we had found a procedure to removing her bandages without any reaction from her. The vet went straight to undo the bandages and we had learned that hosing the gauze was the easiest, so we asked her to wait until we removed the bandage. She was not happy about that and you know what? She doesn't know our horses like we do and instead of becoming rude she should have obliged us without an attitude. Then I explained the medication change up we had so she was fully aware of all the details. The attitude got worse and than she wouldn't talk to me or my husband just my mother. The person who literally listens to us when it comes to the care, training of these animals, it's our frickin job and I want my mother to succeed in her dreams of becoming a breeder. Than to tell my mother it's ok to breed at the end of the season. No ma'am, if you can prevent a late season breeding the better. The vet outside of her medical degree is into the same industry as us outside her practice. That sounds like the competition trying to sabotage my mother. I ain't going to have it. Than not even two days after that they called my mother to collect the bill. Excuse me? We didn't have much outstanding, since my mom pays regularly and now after this it's up to $1200 and they couldn't even wait a month to try to collect their money. To make it worse their records were wrong on the time, she said January and the last visit was April. They called to get their money before it was even a week after the accident and then threatened their services would be suspended. Made my mom so upset! We've all lost sleep and have been endlessly worried about our girl and then they added that worry to our plate. We will pay you off! We will be going to Peter and Smith! Also, if any clients ask us what vet to use we will warn them to stay clear of y'all. Recommend the vets we trust and work with. Word of mouth is everything even with your 20th year anniversary here.

Love this place! I accidentally made an appointment with them, meaning to goto another Equine Center. So glad I made the mistake. Dr.Tull was absolutely amazing with the lameness exam. He pin pointed the issue and was super informative on what to do for treatment. Even squeezed my appointment in on surgery day. The facility itself was absolutely beautiful and very clean. All the staff in the office were helpful and friendly. And I would love to say thanks to Bryce (he was the one holding my horse through everything) you were very kind and great at keeping my girl comfortable. Highly highly highly recommend this place!

I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Lugo and the staff at OEH for the recent care and surgical procedure my horse, Cookie Monster received this past weekend. I was overwhelmed by the kindness, compassion and especially the patience and time that Dr. Lugo spent with me and my husband as my heart horse underwent a stifle procedure for a torn meniscus which turned out to be worse than originally thought. He was in touch with us throughout the weekend during evening hours (unbelievable) and great appreciate his help and concern when Cookie was having issues during post recovery. The Ohio State University would be very proud of their Dr. Lugo!! Special thanks to Dr. Kissler who was on top and fully present recognizing Cookie's distress Friday evening after his surgery and being very pro-active about it as she truly may have saved Cookie's life. Also I want to recognize Travis, the anesthesiologist, who was on top of his game keeping my boy comfortable. Also thank you to Jesse who was there the whole time supporting the team effort. I know I have left out at least 4 others who were on the surgical team and I thank you. God bless you for your help with our four-legged family members.
