How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Banfield Pet Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Banfield Hospital at Dadeland is truly in a league of its own. The entire team—from the front desk to the vets and especially the vet techs—sets the bar for what exceptional pet care looks like. They don’t just treat pets; they know them, remember them, and make every visit feel personal and welcoming. Dr. Kusevic, Dr. Servito, Dr. Castillo, and of course Dr. Esteves have all cared for our pets, and every single one of them is amazing. Their compassion, professionalism, and genuine love for animals shows in every interaction. And the vet techs deserve just as much praise—they are patient, gentle, incredibly knowledgeable, and you can tell they truly care. They remember our pets by name, always treat them with kindness, and make even the most stressful visits smooth and comforting. We live in Broward and still choose to make the drive to Dadeland solely because of the incredible care this team provides. Knowing our pets are in such capable and loving hands makes it worth every mile. If you’re looking for a veterinary hospital that goes above and beyond for both pets and owners, Banfield Dadeland is unmatched. We wouldn’t trust our pets with anyone else.

My experience has been terrible. Customer service is not in anyway attending to the customer. It is a training hospital and the last time I was there the attendant was afraid of my 12 pound dog. When I spoke to management they defended the attendant explaining she had just started. I like the security of having pet service in case of emergency but I am looking for a plan with more quality service.

I booked a 3:30 PM appointment through the Banfield app, which heavily promotes availability — only to be told when I arrived that there was no space and I’d need to reschedule. What’s the point of online booking if it doesn’t match real availability? The front desk staff member was incredibly kind and helpful, but she was clearly overwhelmed and alone, handling multiple calls, a full lobby, and visibly unwell. It’s not fair to her or the clients walking in expecting proper service. I was looking forward to enrolling my dog here since it’s so close to home, but after this experience, I’ll be taking him elsewhere. I’ve heard great things about West Kendall Animal Hospital might be worth the extra drive.

Doctors are wonderful at this location. They are very knowledgeable, friendly and will spend time answering all your questions. They have always gone above and beyond. My dogs love coming here to see everyone.

Upsetting and unprofessional. Have had 3 cats on their wellness pans for over 7yrs and had bad experiences with all but have been locked in to their wellness plans. 2 cats since died and their “drop off” only service had left my cats in their carriers for house sometimes without being seen at all. They don’t call to tell u when they can’t see your pet due to other emergencies. Two of my cats had to be euthanized and it was a nightmare - my last kitty was in pain this weekend and couldn’t weight bear through back legs. She is so id given gabapentin prior to her appt as arranged with the staff - she was left in carrier and I was called at the end of surgery by a rude Dr telling me she was “mean” and hadn’t even seen her. My cat needed to be seen urgently for xray under sedation - arranged after lengthy discussion with a lovely nurse (Pilar) and v compassionate front desk staff (Sheryl). Dr Servito was the most uncaring vet I have ever spoken to and just kept repeating “your pet is ready for collection mam!” While I’m thankful we are on the last month of our plan we are now unable to get insurance as this will likely be seen as a pre-existing condition. We have limited funds and Willow still in pain! Horrible experience. I have complained to headquarters but I have done this in the past to so feel defeated.
