How to Save Money at Dr George's Animal Clinic: Ibarra Natali S DVM

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Our new Vet! Dr. Ibarra is outstanding. They got us in timely and treated our dogs very well. They even called a day or two after the visit to check on our dogs. Cannot recommend the clinic more highly because they only give you 5 stars. Love this place. You will, too. Your pet will be loved.

Absolutely fantastic veterinarian practice. We reached out to them because we needed a USDA certification for our dog to travel abroad. Dr Iberra did a great job with our female vizsla. We received the paperwork back in just a few days and it was perfect for our entry into Ecuador. When I called the practice Jennifer was extremely pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them and will be using them when I travel stateside.

The staff here is absolutely wonderful and has made my life so much easier for me and my babies. After getting the run around at SPCA I brought all four of my felines to them. This year has been extremely stressful for me and my partner, and the amount of care that Dr George and Dr Natalie’s office has taken to ensure all of my babies are happy and healthy is absolutely remarkable. Throughout my many visits, they worked with me and were honest and helpful. I specifically remember one visit for my male cat who was very sick, and I had started crying because it was a lot for me to handle and my cat was in a lot of pain. The tech had reassured me and comforted me emotionally, thoroughly explaining what we were about to do and that stress can affect cats, and we’re going to take care of it and be okay. I cannot thank this office enough for showing me great kindness, especially in what they did not know was one of the hardest times in my life. They listened to my every request and concern and answered my many phone calls. They are wonderful with scheduling appointments promptly and the office is is always very clean, but what goes above and beyond is the staff themselves. I can absolutely feel the love and the passion that the staff has for taking care of animals, i watched them take care of mine like they were their own. Comforting, and coddling my male cat Jude during this stressful appointment and talking to him as if he was a baby, telling him “its gonna be alright”. It’s these things that show us real compassion, I knew we were in great hands. My family has used this office before and will continue to do so with every fur baby that comes into our lives. Thank you so much.

I had a very good experience with this office. I just moved back to Brevard County. My dog needed to be seen. They were the only office out of 13 that I called who could get me in. The Vet was thorough, knowledgeable, kind , attentive and did not rush me. She noticed my dog had 2 very decayed teeth. She had them removed today and is doing very well. She even gave me her cell phone number if I had any issues overnight. I am very appreciative of her and the office.
