How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Remedy
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian
Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.
Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

Awesome staff, great with the animals, very clean! Also have a nice completely fenced in partly shaded yard with sitting benches while your dog can mark his spot sniff annd just be an dog, instead of sitting inside (especially if they are as anxious as mine)! It was Beano’s first visit here and yes he was very curious as to everything going on and very antsy but the vet assistants and dr had the tricks for it all :) they also walk you through what cost will be and what will be done and make sure your okay with all procedures and cost that will partake during your visit ! Highly recommend Remedy Veterinary (formerly known as St. Francis)

I am very pleased with the service and care I received from SFPC! We were helping a 9-12 month old puppy that was in very bad condition and we finally decided to adopt her into our family. Because she was so unexpected, we certainly weren't prepared for nearly a $400 bill to do a spay procedure. St Francis saved us! I was shocked at how low the costs were to do spay, microchipping, nails and even vaccines. All of the volunteers that took my calls were kind and professional. Scheduling an appt was easy, although SFPC was booked out for several weeks. By the time we brought our girl in for a spay, she was in full blown heat, which made us extra nervous about the surgery. However, we got a prompt call following the procedure to let us know everything went well and will be ready to pick her up in a few hours. The vet that did the surgery did an excellent job!! The incision site healed up wonderfully in 2 weeks! The vet didn't mention a need for a cone. We bought one for her in case, but she didn't end up needing it because she didn't bother the site at all. I highly recommend this clinic for your pets needs!

They always take good care of my dogs. Their physicals have been thorough and affordable, and they work with me if I have to get more done than I planned, like shots. They just had me come back when I could pay. They're good at explaining meds and home care, too. I'd never be able to afford all of the test and flea treatment without St. Francis. Thank you, God, and St. Francis, for this Blessing! I want to add that my dog Brownie, is very difficult and reactive. The patience they have with him is so heartwarming. I'm so thankful that they take care of him, even knowing how difficult he can be. God bless y'all for taking such good care of my dogs!

This is such a great place. Nancy helped me this time around, and was super efficient and sweet. St. Francis Pet Care is a VERY SPECIAL place. Their goal is to keep homeless and low-income people together with their pets. They do just that! I know, personally, I, LITERALLY, couldn't afford a $5 bag of cat food, to feed the rescue cat that I take care of, without them. They've saved both me, and my pet (as I would have lost my mind in this pandemic, without my pet companion.) I am SOOOO GRATEFUL for their help! If I could give them more Stars, I would.
