How to Save on Veterinary Costs at The Pet Dentist
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Oh my gosh! Where do I start?!? First I want to say a very heart felt thank you to Dr Brown. You are an angel here on earth and God led us straight to you! We thought we would have to put down our second Golden Retriever, Kirby, at only 8 years of age due to Chondrosarcoma that developed in his right mandible and a mass the size of a golf ball had taken over his mouth. Our vet told us to consult with Blue Pearl, who told us the best way to deal with this cancer was to have his right mandible removed. Wait what? How the heck is he going to thrive with half his jaw removed. He also recommended to have The Pet Dentist to do this surgery. We struggled with this and went over and over the other options we had. Being that Kirby was only 8 and very healthy aside from this localized cancer, I could not stand to watch him waste away. We finally decided to take a leap of faith and opted for the surgery. I contacted the office in Clearwater and had to wait for a cancelation to get in, thank God there was a cancelation that week and we first met Dr. Brown. She assessed Kirby and patiently answered all our questions and addressed all our concerns. Still nervous, we agreed to move ahead with this surgery. The following week we were called to bring him in and get this out because the mass was growing very fast. Dr Brown said that once he was sedated and was able to review the xrays and ct scans, she would call us to go over how she would proceed or not if it was too advanced. True to her word she called with good news and said she would not have to take the whole bone but only part of it and was sure she could still get clean margins. Kirby did great with the surgery and came home that night. He had a small hiccup and pulled all the stitches out 2 days later and Dr Brown had us bring him in and she had to restitch him. It is now only one week out and he is already feeding himself (we had to hand feed him at first) and he is back to begging for food when we eat!! This afternoon Dr Brown called me to tell me the results of the pathology and confirmed the Chondrosarcoma but the best thing was that she was very happy to report that it was confirmed she got all the cancer with clean margins!!!! He was cured! We are so thankful to Dr Brown and the entire staff at The Pet Dentist for their genuine care of Kirby and us as the nervous fur baby parents. I will sing praise for Dr Brown always! We love you and Kirby loves you.

My boy suffered an injury to his head and jaw after zooming high speed into an outside HVAC unit, which has resulted in a complex case, with a list of multiple potential/differential diagnoses with my DVM and two other specialists that has remained largely unsolved even after extensive evaluation, investigation and expense. The stress that comes along with all of the poking and prodding trying to navigate diagnostics and a treatment plan has also begun to take a real toll on him. Thank you Dr Peak for being able to provide me with a provisional diagnosis of what has been causing Riley's symptoms and helping to improve his quality of life. Thank you also for accomodating us and providing a fear-free as possible experience (for both of us). Dr Peak is knowledgeable, thorough and compassionate, and I highly recommend him.

I can’t say enough good things about The Pet Dentist and the care they gave our Daisie. What started with bad breath and some facial swelling turned out to be a much more serious dental issue involving a retained tooth and a cyst that had grown into her nasal passage. Needless to say, I was extremely nervous about the surgery. Daisie needed the cyst removed and multiple teeth extracted, and the entire team was compassionate, thorough, and patient with all of my questions and concerns. They took wonderful care of her throughout the procedure and made sure we understood what to expect during her recovery. We were especially impressed with Dr. Waters, she is so smart and knowledgeable and also compassionate and took the time to answer ALL of my questions (and I had a lot!) Daisie is now home, healing, and getting back to being herself. We are so grateful that this issue was found and treated and for the excellent care she received. When it’s your pet, they’re family, and trusting someone with their care is a big deal. I would absolutely recommend The Pet Dentist to anyone needing specialized dental care for their pet.

Our senior Chihuahua, Bob, had terrible teeth and a severe reverse cough. Our regular vet said he needed to see a dental specialist due his age and high risk health issues. The entire staff at THE PET DENTIST took excellent care of Bob from start to finish. He was anxious when we dropped him off. Rather than place Bob in a crate, a staff member carried him around the office in a backpack pouch before his surgery. The surgeons explained every procedure and drug. They know their stuff. Bob is like a new dog! His cough is gone and he eats like a champ. We are so greatful.

Wonderful experience at the Pet Dentist! To start, the consult room was perfect for letting them acclimate to the hospital. Everything was explained in detail and communication was superb from the start of scheduling, to the day of the procedure and discharging! Special shout out to Dr. Waters, Val and Jolene! Thank you for taking care of my babies!
