My dog’s wellness exam. Small Door is so clean, modern, friendly, and appointments are on time! Cannot recommend the vets and nurses enough. Really love how they spell out the costs for me and what’s needed now and what can wait. Wonderful bedside manner with my nervous dog. Highly recommend!

This has overall been a very positive vet experience. They never overbook people, it’s always easy to get an appointment, and I like the app for quick medical questions that come up between visits. The staff have all been very nice and attentive. I have had one of their preventative care bundles and it’s nice to know up front what you are paying for the year and to not have to worry about it whenever a service is given. I am guessing I pay a premium at this place but at the same time, I don’t think they are the most expensive in the DC area either. I will say my dog is always super excited to go here! So that, is saying something.

We took our older dog Skye for her checkup and bloodwork. Dr Fischer, Lauren, Orlando and the receptionist (didn’t catch name) were super-helpful, friendly and so good at what they do. The facility itself is attractive and sparkling clean. Recommend!

Our sweet senior “puppy” is an anxious one. The team at Small Door Spring Valley took it in stride and spoiled her with treats and cheez from a can (!). Dr. Kristen Fischer was patient, clear, and so very kind to our girl! Unfortunately Maisy is now demanding cheez from a can and completely disappointed in us for not introducing it to her earlier. We are very bad humans. (Picture of attitude for reference)

I recently moved to D.C. and didn't have a veterinarian for my 16-year-old cat. Two other vets had previously informed me that she would need some teeth removed. I decided to go ahead with the surgery and was able to schedule it within two weeks. On the day of the procedure, I received text message updates along with photos of my cat. The doctor called me both before and after the surgery to update me on how everything went. Given my cat's age, I was concerned about the anesthesia, but the doctor reassured me that they would stop the surgery if any complications arose. The surgery was a success, and my cat is now happier than ever. The facility was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. They have become my go-to veterinary clinic.
