Paws and Paddle Canine Conditioning
How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Paws and Paddle Canine Conditioning
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian
Choosing a veterinarian is an important decision for pet parents. A strong vet relationship is built on trust, communication, and understanding your pet’s individual needs.
Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures
It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.
Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

Gail is the real deal!! I've taken all four of my dogs to her over the last three years and her work with each of them has been a game changer. She is super passionate, very skilled and a true animal lover in every sense of the word. I am immensely grateful to her for helping my dogs. If your dog has any kind of physical injury you should absolutely reach out to her to see how she can help.

Gail is absolutely a pivotal component in Flapjack's health! Her warm and friendly demeanor, as well as her gentle (but no nonsense!) approach to his care helps him to be his best.

Gail Henderson is a beautiful soul who loves her clients and wants them to live their best lives. Sometimes animal people aren't great with people, but that's not Gail. She explains things really well, and gives you tools to continue supporting your animal friend. You and your dog will be treated with kindness. If your dog has mobility issues...definitely consider bringing them here.

Litchfield County is lucky to have Gail Henderson! She knows her stuff! Gail is a skilled canine physical therapist who has personally guided my dogs back to good health. She uses hands on therapy, exercise, and water conditioning to gently lead dogs back to health. I highly recommend Paws and Paddle. If your dog needs post-surgical rehabilitation or simply could use pt support due to age, go see Gail. She will get your dog right as rain.
