How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal General

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My family and I have been going to Animal General for all 3 of our dogs over the last 10+ years. My dog Anna has lots of anxiety, but Dr. Smith is wonderful with her. Dr. Smith is caring and knowledgeable and I have no doubts that Anna is in great hands whenever we need to visit. This is the only vet practice that I trust with my girl, and can’t thank them enough for the service they have provided!

Animal General is the best, the vets and the techs are so good at what they do. My dog's vet, Dr. Laden Karimian, is by the far the best vet I have ever known. She is incredibly caring, and always makes sure I understand what is going on with my dog. I trust her knowledge and her wisdom. She definitely goes above and beyond. We love Dr. K!

Having lived in the Farmington Valley for over 25 years and having had twelve pets during that time, I have had experience with seven local veterinarians, between veterinary offices and emergency rooms. Animal General is, without a doubt, far and away the best office I've had the pleasure to visit with my cats and dogs. Three of my pets have been very anxious animals, one of whom other vets required me to medicate prior to office visits. This was not necessary at Animal General because of the atmosphere generally and the people who work there. The atmosphere is calming, professional, and friendly. Everyone who works there is competent, compassionate, knowledgeable, skilled, forthcoming with information, and overwhelmingly kind. I recommend Animal General absolutely without reservation.

We love Animal General! It is very apparent that everyone in that office has the best interest of your pet. The care and advice is spot on. Dr. Feldman is top notch - he has been our veterinarian to 6 of our fur babies - over 20 years of amazing care. The dogs absolutely love Dr. Feldman. Highly recommend!!

We love the staff. We love Dr. K. The care he gets is really the best. Eddie, our big black lab loves going. He runs in. Doesn't hurt that he has a stuffed animal to play with.
