How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Heritage Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

We've been taking our dog to Heritage since we got him. He is pretty high strung but Dr. Sprague and Marvin know how to handle him. The rest of the staff is great as well. We appreciate that we can put our confidence in them. We feel their prices are ressonable as well.

Horrible!!!! Called this morning a little after 8, —advised staff dog injured leg, requested an appointment, and told staff will call back after talking to dr. 12:30 called - nothing. 3:45 called no answer. Received call at 5:30 this evening advising that due to our dog not being seen there in over two years a full exam needed. Ok fine. Staff - first available appointment is in December. This answer took all day?!! Waste of my time. Not upset about so far out with schedule, upset took all day for your lame answer/excuse. Interesting, looked on their Facebook page and staff posted photos they took today for Halloween. I guess this is why it took so long to get answer from vet. What a joke!!!’ Why would they be ok with booking an appointment in December when we advised our dog had an injured leg? Will not be recommending them to anyone. So long Heritage Animal Hospital, never again.

Good quality care without the Nicole and dime add ons. The entire team treats my animals with respect and great care. The give me good honest service for a good price. No 'suggest' test or procedures that are not needed.

This is hands down the best and most affordable vet in the area. My mom originally started going here and I soon followed. All the staff is amazing. I am always in and out and for a fraction of the cost of typical vets nearby. My mom has gotten amazing and passionate care for her dog while going here.
