How to Save on Veterinary Costs at True Companions Animal Shelter & Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This was my first time walking into the Max fund animal adoption center and it was so welcoming. They were giving away free dog food and toys and coats for different animals. They had all kinds of pet supplies and they were actually just giving them away. I was there because I rescued a mother melon wall that had been running the streets, apparently for a few days searching for her pups. The max fund was able to help take care of her and give her the medical care that they needed. this is now one of my favorite places!

I apologize if this is wrong, but I believe the person we dealt with was christine. However, she couldn't have been more friendly and understanding to our situation. She provided comfort to us in letting go of our kitten who is pregnant and we unfortunately couldn't take care of her during it. We can not wait to see our kitty again but until then we know she is in good hands. Thank you again. You have no idea how much your little extra help and kindness means to us.

The staff here are just absolutely incredible!! Wendy is a phenomenal trainer, and she really knows her expectations at behavioral training for dogs and it was an honor to talk to her for as long as we did. We came in to see about fostering & ended up meeting sweet loyalty for a long time. What a beautiful dog who just need some love and patience. We will be coming to see loyalty. Max Fund is the only place in Denver. That is a no kill shelter so all the pups end up at Max Fund.. It’s an incredible endeavor that they’re providing such a service to the community, but they also need a lot of support as well and these dogs could really use fosters or good homes with patient and compassionate people who are animal lovers!!

Overall, this establishment meets a high standard of care and professionalism.

I'm not sure how many stars to give. Maxfund does have its good thing about them. It is true that MaxFund is a no kill shelter. HOWEVER, they do send some animals to Dumbfriends league. That IS a kill shelter. Can't saying the euthanize them, but they do send them there. I know because we had given up a pet that belonged to someone that passed away. A few days later another family member had said they would take the dog in. We went back to pick up the dog where we dropped it off at MaxFund. Guess where we found the dog?? This happened a few years back. I was reading on a neighborhood post. Someone asked about a no kill shelter. I see a ton of people say MaxFund. I would like people to also know that they will send animals to Dumbfriends league. I don't think they send every animal. I'm not even sure how or why they would send any animal there, but they did send the dog we dropped off.
