How to Save Money at Rocky Mountain Spay + Neuter
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
My dog recently needed surgery after eating rocks (yes, rocks!), and I can’t thank this clinic enough. The entire team was amazing—quick to respond, compassionate, and incredibly thorough. They walked me through the whole process, answered every question I had, and really put me at ease during such a stressful time. The surgery went so well that my dog is doing even better than before her little “rock snack.” I’m so grateful for the care and professionalism here—I would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a vet that truly goes above and beyond.

I was referred here by my regular vet who is not currently scheduling spays. I read prior reviews and have to say I found making Sammi’s appointment online very easy. I received a confirmation email with all of the instructions about scanning the QR code to check in once you get there as well as the notice about them tattooing once they are spayed. The receptionist was great and did a wonderful job explaining her discharge instructions. I checked in just after 7am and picked her up at 3. She’s on day 2 post op and is doing great. Thank you!

We took our young cat here for a neutering, microchip, and vaccines after a recommendation from our regular veterinarian. We showed up in the morning, scanned the QR code, and were leaving within 20 minutes. The prices were much more affordable than other options we looked at. When we picked our cat up they gave us detailed aftercare instructions and explanations for any medications. I am thankful for their services, demeanor, and role in our community keeping pets safe and sterile. I am sure Bob Barker approves from the afterlife!

Absolutely terrible women that work here. They treated me so badly for no reason. I went there from being told from a ER they could help me with my sick dog. I was the first one to show up at the door. And when it was time the short older woman was very aggressive with me and told me she can’t help me and I would have to wait a hour to speak with her. It was pretty cold that morning and I was scared for my dog was not doing good at all So, I waited and even did the scan code to get in line. It told me I was next and knocked and they ignored me. Finally they answer and I said I’m next. And she replaced no you are not and laughed at me. And said they don’t offer what I need and they can’t help me. Like I was just trying to save my dog. I was told they could help me. All while keeping me outside in the cold and not even offering me to come in at least. These women should be ashamed of themselves on how they treated somebody just trying to save their pet. Definitely the blond manager lady. Worst customer service ever. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy!’ PS I saved my dog and he’s doing great 👍🏼

I was disappointed that a big section of my corgi 's but got shaved off and reached out to them. They explained that they needed to take a good portion of hair to ensure that it was sterile. You can request that they don't take as much and I recommend that if you have a corgi to ensure you get to keep your corgi 's butt.
