How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VEG ER for Pets

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Yep, emergency care is expensive and time consuming… but if you’re going to spend the money, this is a great place to do it! We were waiting on a bench overnight, which was fine. The center is a giant open room! The operating room has a big window so you can see inside and many of their procedure tables are right in the middle of the room where you can see everything that’s happening to your pet. I loved it! Transparency is important to them! Being with my pet through everything is important to me! We ended up being admitted and they let me stay in the kennel with him and eventually got us into a room with a fold out bed where we could both rest. Being with him helped him relax and rest. The providers are very kind, accommodating, and there are free snacks, coffee and water. It’s a little thing but when you’ve been awake for more than 24 hours, it means a lot! Definitely recommend highly!

My dog needed emergency care and VEG ER for Pets was a godsend. The staff were all compassionate and professional. The facility was clean and in great condition. All the fears and questions I had regarding my pet were answered with great compassion. I never once felt like just another customer and really felt that the staff loved my pet just as much as I do. I hope we never have another emergency but know I can count on VEG ER for Pets to provide valuable care. THANK YOU so much to the professionals at VEG ER for Pets, you were there in our time of need. Love Bailey and his dog dad Frank!

Our 1 year old consumed a corn cob which is a medical ER. It was late and the only ER Vet open was VEG. When we arrived she was assessed immediately, no long wait. All the information was presented with compassion and accuracy verbally and via text message. She was a seen by the doctor immediately and assessed. Steven came to take vitals and administered medication to induce vomiting and was absolutely caring and treated our dog with care and patience. He fully explained everything we needed to know. He continually asked if we had any questions through the process. He was amazing! The pricing was higher than expected, no discounts offered for senior or military. The facility is clean and welcoming. Because of the higher prices I personally would try to avoid this ER but overall happy they were open. We opted not to get the X-rays. You have my two cents and never leave a corn cob where a pet may be tempted to consume it!

I had to take my kitten to this ER during a really stressful situation, and I honestly can’t say enough good things about them. From the very beginning, even while I was still driving there, the vet (Andy Chiang) took the time to speak with me on the phone, explain what they were thinking, and help me stay calm. That level of communication made a huge difference. Once we arrived, the entire team was incredibly professional, thorough, and—most importantly—focused on what was best for my pet. They did not rush into unnecessary procedures and were very thoughtful about next steps. In fact, they were careful not to over-treat or overcharge, which I really appreciated. It genuinely felt like their priority was my cat’s well-being, not just running more tests. They took the time to re-evaluate everything, explained their findings clearly, and made sure I understood what was actually going on. After everything my kitten and I had already been through that day, their approach made the experience so much less overwhelming. My kitten is now doing well, and I’m incredibly grateful for the care, honesty, and professionalism we received here. Highly recommend.

I have never had a better vet experience. If I could come here for every single vet appointment, I could. And that's coming from someone who had to drive 1.5 hours to get here. The staff were kind and caring. Most importantly, I got to be with my cat through the whole time. Other highlights: snacks, coffee, comfy couches in the exam room, charging ports on the couches, and a bunch of sweetie pies working there.
