How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Valley Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

This is the best vet in town. We checked in at 9 and we’re done by 10:30. Cheryl is the best office manager. If you need a good vet this is definitely the best office in town. I’ve been going to this vets office for 20 years. The prices can’t be beat. They take care credit and have a knowledgeable staff. They have you sign in and wait to be called. The lobby is a bit small but we sit in the car.

Only veterinary client in the SGV that can take a same day walk in! First come first serve, come early, and be patient. The doctors are excellent and always attentive. I almost wanted to gate keep this one but I’m sure it will help a pet owner out there that needs an emergency appointment without breaking the bank.

I am deeply disappointed with the level of service I experienced at this veterinary clinic. I had an urgent matter regarding my pet's test results and attempted to contact them repeatedly throughout the day. Regrettably, my calls went unanswered, leaving me in a state of worry and concern. When I finally received a callback, it was from a private number belonging to the veterinarian himself. While I appreciated the response, I politely expressed my frustration at the lack of responsiveness earlier in the day. The veterinarian's explanation was "We answer the phone anymore" A fundamental aspect of any reputable veterinary clinic should be its accessibility to pet owners, especially in times of urgency and uncertainty. The inability to answer calls promptly and efficiently may lead to unnecessary stress and anxiety for pet owners, making the overall experience quite distressing. I have been to various veterinary clinics, and this experience, unfortunately, stands out as one of the worst. As a concerned pet owner, I strongly advise others to reconsider bringing their pets to this particular clinic until they demonstrate a more reliable and customer-focused approach. while I respect the expertise of the veterinarian, the lack of responsiveness and difficulty in reaching the clinic has left me with a negative impression. I hope this feedback helps the clinic recognize the importance of consistent and efficient communication with pet owners, as it directly impacts the well-being of our beloved animal companions

Have been waiting for blood results for over 1.5 days!!!! They said they would contact us but haven't. I have attempted calling multiple times but no answer. They had mentioned before that if we took our pet somewhere else and we needed the blood work the vet clinic could just call and they would send the blood results... We are on our way to another vet because we haven't heard anything and our kitten is seizing. Now we'll have to pay another vet for something that should have been taken care of by them. I'm sure this vet will try to contact them and OF COURSE THEY WILL NOT ANSWER. Spent 250 on exam, antibiotics, blood work. Now I'll have to pay again for for blood work that they should have given me or atleast given our kitten something to help with the seizures in the meantime. I understand places are busy but at least have the courtesy to ANSWER YOUR PHONE.

It's definitely cheaper than the other vets around town. Over the past 20 years, I've noticed most veterinarian offices are like used car lots. They can't be trusted and charge ridiculously high prices. They're really good and hiding fees and giving you the "suprise" bill at the end. Valley Veterinary was completely upfront with their pricing and charged EXACTLY what they quoted. The woman at the front desk is always friendly and handles the morning rush very well. The only reason I gave it three stars was because of the actual vets that have helped me over the years. I realize this is a very busy location, but the vets are very short and not very nice. The last vet was a middle-aged Asian man who was to give my pet an exam. He literally held the stethoscope to my pets chest for half a second (no exaggeration). He could have at least attempted to look like he cared. Checked Blumpies temperature, and THAT WAS IT! I asked a few questions, but couldn't understand his short answers due to his heavy accent and unwillingness to even attempt to communicate. Hey! At least the $45 they quoted me was what I paid. I've never dealt with the owner, Dr. Martin, but I've heard good things about him. And props again to the nice lady that opens the office and handles the mad rush every day. Blumpie likes her.
