How to Save Money at Olive Tree Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I have been bringing my dogs here for over a year before it was Olive Animal Hospital, and I cannot say enough good things about the staff and improvements they made to the office. It was the first time my dog really relaxed here, not to mention the staff really knows what they’re doing when it comes to working with my dog who is incredibly anxious and has always struggled with vet visits. The prices are very reasonable, and it feels great to know my dogs are in good hands.

I absolutely LOVE the attention Dr. Garg and his wonderful team give to my little guy! Very compassionate and takes the time to answer all my questions. I've been bringing my corgi since he was a pup, now he is two years old and healthy! We are big fans of this clinic and would definitely recommend!

The previous doctor was something else. Trying to prescribe unneeded medication. Giving bad diagnosis. Only to try and charge more while trying to confuse with 1. Terrible accent. 2. Trying to cycle through jargon to justify a unneeded treatment. 3. For some reasons and this has never been a case with any other doctor. But even my dog didn't trust him. Or like when the doctor would pet him. After I saw the doctor was trying to charge me for unneeded treatments I stopped coming. Today I receive a call that there's is now a new doctor and new ownership and I'm sorry but you guys are really gonna have to work to earn the trust of everyone the previous doctors screwed over. And those previous doctors were riding on the positive reviews of the doctors from 6+ years ago. You've got your work cut out for you, alas for me I'm moving on. I'm sorry but that location no matter who is in it now is condemned in my book. I've had malpractice doctors in the past and not willing to give the location another shot.

I would like to share my heartfelt thankfulness with regards to my visit just recently with Shaina and Dr. Nakamura. (sorry for the spelling of name ladies) They showed such kindness and empathy for my baby boy Preshis Jr. who had infection and teeth pulled due to my neglect of his teeth cleanings.I was broken to hear that he needed so much care but again it was my fault for letting others and life consume me. Long story short, my baby has become a firery little boy, not easy to handle for his best interest. lol The staff gave their TLC that made me feel comfortable to leave my baby in their immediate care. Shaina even called to check on my baby that was in pain and advised me how to administer his medication for his immediate needs. I just can't say enough about the kindness, understanding and care I have received from this practice. I would highly recommend this warm and loving team with your furry family as needed. Thank you so much!!! God bless all of your staff in Jesus Name, Amen.

I have been working with Dr. Garg lately with my cat, who had a rough 2023 and has been on quite a health journey with everything from heart disease to diabetes to a liver condition. Dr. Garg has an excellent bedside manner with my kitties, and he is really competent and smart. I really appreciate how I never feel pressured to do expensive testing, and he is always very honest about what is necessary and when, and what is going to help with treatment and what will just be informative. I appreciate the natural options he has given me and the support when my cat was having a really hard time. I work with human immunology, and he works with pet immunology and I always feel that he is open to learning and looking at things I want to try. He was supportive when I wanted to go learn a ton about cat diabetes and try Constant Glucose Meters and blood glucose testing at home (diabetes can be overwhelming as heck, but I was really committed to making food changes safely and trying to get my cat into remission, and we succeeded!). I felt Dr. Garg was really looking out for my cat's safety when he gave feedback. Changing food can really impact blood glucose and insulin needs, and the whole thing took work and perseverance. The staff are very kind, personable, and empathetic and will definitely give your pet enough admiration to give them a big head. We are regulars because of my oldest cat's chronic health issues. We've been working on itching and hair loss and liver issues lately. This is a vet hospital where the exams are very affordable, so you can afford to bring multiple pets or focus on the tests, meds, supplements, and therapies to get your pets healthy. I believe they just started providing care for exotics! I have been going to this vet hospital since early 2023 when Dr. Hoque worked there. We had a heck of a year for cat health, and I was able to afford care for all three of the boys I had at the time. I really appreciated Dr. Hoque's extensive cardiology experience when we almost lost one of my cats to congestive heart failure at the ER. We have been going here long enough to have had one cat pass. He died of a freak medical condition no one could have predicted, and Dr. Hoque had recommended an x-ray and rushed it out to a radiology specialist. It was all the right testing, but the diagnosis was very rare and could not have been predicted or seen on labs previously. I was a mess when I brought my beloved cat in, and they gave me some time to grieve and an extremely affordable option to have him cremated. This place is a little extra drive for me, but it's one of the better vets I've had in years, and they're open later and on weekends when my cats like to break. :)
