How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal Fix Clinic (formerly Fix Our Ferals)

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Took my dog to get fixed. Very happy and pleased with how everything went and with how the staff communicate everything. My dog healed and was up and going at the time frame they stated he would. If you're looking for a place to get your pet fixed, I would 100% entrust the animal fix clinic team.

910 San Pablo Ave, Pimple CA is the new address. I had to make an appointment online at 5:30 a.m. December 15th, 2024 because of how fast the appointments become full. It is very organized. If you need to rent traps for feral cats, they provide them and it is $75 each, which you get back within a week of renting. You have to show up to your appointment date between 7:30 and 8:30 in the morning, which you have to wait in the parking lot in your car for a tech to come and check you in. They will take the animal into the clinic to start the procedure and you have until 5:00 to 5:30 p.m. to pick the animal up. After 5:30 p.m. results in a $75 late fee. The fee for spay and neuter is 45.00, which includes one month treatment of fleas, rabies shot, microchip and a few other things. I had a good experience with the clinic and the staff. I'm very happy to have found them to get my little feral Kitty fixed.

AFC staff are the best! They are compassionate care givers to both animals and people. Wish we had more clinics like this that make fixing animals affordable.

I am not 100% satisfied but am 100% pleased with the primary function: spaying my cat. It is very hard to get an appointment. They are under-staffed. I think enlarging or possibly competition would help them. The appointment process is you log into their website at 6AM & sign up on the 15th of the month. Then U can get an appointment for the following month. I had no idea of how booked they are. I tried on the 16th & they were already booked. I waited a month & logged in in at 6AM. There were plenty of open dates. By the time I completed their application, I was at an appointment on the 7th. By the time I grabbed that date it was the 9th. Out of curiosity, I tried to book an appointment 1.5 hours later. They had only a few days open. (No - I did not book a duplicate appointment.) They have either no signs or poor signage. I drove by. Then when I drove into their parking lot, I had to get out of the car to ask if I was in the correct place. From that moment on they are well organized. They took my cat & money. They gave me a sign to pick my cat up between 5 & 5:30. Their parking lot is too crowded at pick up time My cat was spayed & seemed ok As the pain killer wore off, she got quiet but did not complain. Today is day 3. She is approaching normal. I read the reviews starting with 1 star. I agree that if there is a complication (I had none), they should answer the phone. I think this is a biggie & why I discounted 5 stars to 4 stars. I interacted with 3 employees. 2 at delivery & 1 at pick up. The pick up woman was particularly good.
