How to Save Money at Country Club Animal Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

CC Animal Clinic is our go to vet since we moved to this end of the valley. Dr Roberts and her staff always go above and beyond our expectations. We cannot recommend this vet highly enough!! They literally saved our grand-puppy, a 10 week old basset hound and we are so so GRATEFUL to Dr Roberts. Coco and Boa LOVE their dr and the entire staff at Country Club Animal Clinic!!

Previously I've been here and had great experiences. But now I can't even have an experience. I've been trying to set up an appointment for almost 2 weeks. I'm never called, never called back, always hitting voice mail, and when I do manage to get through they hang up on me mid conversation. I'm not risking my pet's health because you don't know how to communicate. I don't know what happened but you should be genuinely ashamed of yourself.

This vet is incredible and truly cares for your little one. If you're close to this vet, do not hesitate to go here! They deserve 5 stars across the board. My pup even loves this place and is overly excited when he walks in the building. Yet, they're non-judgmental and know how to manage him professionally and with care. I've met with all the doctors because we've gone in for several different reasons and Dr. Roberts, Huston, and Taylor have been incredible. They really know what to look for and how to help your pup heal. The vet techs are on top of it and handle my pup with care. The front desk is professional, quick, and so kind. Jennifer, Clarissa, and every at the front desk is so kind and helpful. Every tech I've met with (it's usually Paige my dog sees, I believe) handles my wild pup with care. The office is also clean. You'll be happy you brought your pup here.

Do not go to this vet unless you want to spend a lot of money. My dog started Heart guard from this location less than 6 months ago. I called today because they have been refusing to refill her prescription for them to tell us we had to come in and get ANOTHER blood test done to refill. This is after she told me that they recheck blood every 2 years. On top of it, I called them 5 times one day an no answer and no calls back from the vet front desk. They also leave no appts available if you have an urgent need to see a vet. They are booking 3/4 weeks out. Very disappointing and will not be returning.

Took our dog Pretzel in for the 3rd time to have his bumps frozen. First 2 times it was $180 for his whole body from 2 different vets. This time they wanted over $600!!! No notice, nothing, no bid or quote. Then she had the audacity to come in and say that they made a huge mistake before and we actually got a huge discount the first 2 times and that we needed to pay up!!! WHAT!?!?! 1st they said it was per bump, then they said it was per ZONE on his body. Which is it??? This Dr. Roberts is as uncaring and unethical as they come. The front desk puts you on hold even when there is no one on the phone. They like to laugh and giggle a lot up there. I have called from their lobby when I was there waiting for an appointment to see if I was right, and sure enough, that's how this place does it. Guess our time isn't as valuable as theirs. I will not take my pets back here and I suggest you avoid this place at all costs as well.
