How to Save Money at Orange Friendly Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I recently switched to Orange Friendly Animal Hospital, and I can genuinely say it’s been the best vet experience I’ve had in a long time. Initially, I was on the lookout for a new vet because my previous clinic just didn’t quite meet the level of care I wanted for my pets. When I found out about Orange Friendly Animal Hospital and Dr. Nguyen, I decided to give them a try. I brought in my two dogs for a general checkup and vaccines. The staff is very helpful and kind and whole process was incredibly easy and seamless. They got me an appointment quickly, and once I arrived, the staff took us into a room right away. They asked all the right questions about my dogs’ needs and then the doctor came to meet them. After the consultation, they provided me with quotes for services without any pressure. I never felt like I had to choose the most expensive option—everything was very transparent and comfortable. Because that first visit was so positive, I also brought my two cats in next for their checkups and vaccines. It was a repeat of the same great experience: straightforward, caring, and super professional. Dr. Nguyen was not only knowledgeable but genuinely listened to my questions and concerns and treated my pets with such care. 🐶🐾 In short, Orange Friendly Animal Hospital has quickly become my go-to vet clinic. They made everything easy and treated both me and my pets with kindness. I’m definitely going to keep bringing all my pets here moving forward.

I had an excellent experience at OFAH. My Shiba Inu injured his paw and tore off a nail, and the staff handled the situation with both professionalism and care. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and made sure my dog was comfortable throughout the treatment. I highly recommend this hospital for anyone looking for compassionate and skilled veterinary care.

I decided to write this review after hearing about what happened with the parking lot vandalism. They don’t deserve that at all. The team here is kind, hardworking, and truly cares about the animals they treat. I felt I needed to leave my review to show support. I recently took my cat, George, to Orange Friendly Animal Hospital for a wellness exam and flea medicine. I informed them that I’m deaf, and they were very patient and understanding. They took their time to communicate with me clearly and made sure I understood everything about George’s care. One of the lady staff members knew a little sign language, and I really appreciated her effort to communicate. Dr. Johnny Nguyen explained everything thoroughly about George’s health. The visit was quick, stress-free, and the staff were super friendly and professional. Their service prices were reasonable, which I truly appreciate, though that was during their temporary “grand opening” offer. I’ll see what their prices are on my next visit. Overall, they’re wonderful. I’ll definitely be coming back again in the future.

I’ve got to say, Dr. Nguyen is the best! He took my Milu in and stitched his belly up like a poem in motion. He was incredibly considerate with me as his client. He took time to explain the entire procedure from beginning to end, along with all the precautions to follow before and after the operation. Milu is now three and a half years old and full of energy. I’m truly grateful for Dr. Nguyen’s compassion and the reassurance throughout the process.

Dr. Johnny and his team were amazing with my dog Roxy. She was struggling quite a bit, and within just a few days of treatment under his care, she was already doing so much better. Johnny took the time to explain everything clearly, followed up promptly, and really showed how much he cares about his patients. I couldn’t be happier with how quickly Roxy recovered — highly recommend this clinic to anyone who wants a vet that genuinely goes above and beyond!
