How to Save Money at Paw Sweet Paw | Pet Resorts
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I initially supported this business and frequented their services because of their relatively affordable bathing prices. However, after every visit, my dog was always excessively thirsty, poorly brushed, and his paws remained dirty even after the bath. One of the main reasons I never entrusted them with boarding was the concerning lack of attention towards the dogs. Every time I visited, there seemed to be no one actively caring for the dogs. The staff appeared overwhelmed, primarily focused on cleaning the floors and handling dog messes. This made me uneasy about how my dog would be treated there, as it seemed like proper care and attention were missing. I recently read about the unfortunate incident that happened here. I sincerely hope this business takes the necessary steps to improve their operations and starts genuinely caring for the animals entrusted to them with the respect and love they deserve.

Came here for a vet appointment for my dog, and she was so nervous that she ended up pooping all over me and on the floor! The staff were so nice and understanding, helping me out immediately. They gave her a free bath afterwards, and I returned the next morning for a grooming session, too. The vet was incredibly professional, not pushing any services or treatments on me (which unfortunately I have had happen too often with some other vets). I felt comfortable the whole time.

Since my pet was 11 months he is been to this resort almost all vacation we have to plan. The only one time we had issue was they did-not allow him onboard due to vaccine overdue. Rest staffs are very caring and good.

UPDATE: Came in today to see Dr.Cruz & I am even more impressed than the first visit. Dr. Cruz guided us through all our kitten questions/concerns, she was very tentative and even had us giggling through our anxiety/worries! Between the two Dr.s both are incredibly amazing, couldn’t ask for a better set of Dr.s to be here. _________ Starting off with the environment here, it’s very friendly and playful. Extremely big facility so you know everything they offer has a designated area, which is always wonderful to know. While we weren't here for boarding, it seemed very reliable/safe, having TV's in the lobby with live streams going of your furry friends currently at play. They also had a cat boarding area which was visible in the lobby showing the cat trees/playrooms for them while they are staying. Our visit was strictly for the vet to see Dr. Katia. From the Vet tech to the doctor both were very gentle with our handsome kitten & knowledgeable in all aspects. They talked to us regarding any concerns we could have had and only offered us what we would need for initial care exams. This being our first time owning a kitten/cat the visit seemed flawless. The only downside I will say, that doesn't reflect the business as a whole is the under staffing. We noticed they were a bit understaffed as the lobby for vet got backed up quickly. We were still seen within under 20 minutes of our initial appointment time, but again this does not represent the care they provide. We look forward to continue to bring our kitten here!

TWO dogs died including my dog. My 11-year-old, 8lb Pomeranian, BuBu, had 7 broken ribs, a crushed spine, and a punctured lung with severe internal bleeding. BuBu tragically passed away even with intense care in an emergency room, and I feel compelled to LEAVE A REVIEW about what happened. My original review got deleted but here I am again. During BuBu's stay, she was left unsupervised and attacked by a nearly 40lb dog. The injuries she sustained were devastating and ultimately fatal. When I requested access to CCTV footage to understand what had happened, my request was denied multiple times, and the responses I received from the facility were inconsistent, which raised concerns about transparency and accountability. They even refused to provide CCTV footage, according to official police report. In addition, I was outraged when the facility dared to suggest that BuBu's age and health contributed to the incident. This claim was not only completely false but also an insult to the memory of my beloved dog. BuBu was vibrant, full of energy, and a joyful presence in our lives. She loved life and had no health issues that would justify such a baseless and dismissive excuse. Blaming her instead of taking responsibility felt like an attempt to deflect accountability, and it was both hurtful and deeply unacceptable. As a pet owner, I trusted this facility to provide a safe and caring environment. Unfortunately, my experience left me questioning whether sufficient safety protocols are in place to prevent such tragedies. I hope this review encourages other pet owners to research and ask for more around for a better place.
