How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Above and Beyond Animal Care

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I've been going to above and Beyond since Dr Jen started it. As long as she is there - it will be my Vet office. I trust her experience professionalism and customer service. My dogs never mind going to see Dr. Jen Powers, they trust her to be kind and efficient. She is an essential service in Northern CA.

I can’t recommend this vet office enough!! They see our 3 dogs, 2 cats and horse! My appointments run on time and quick and easy check in/ out process. I wish the fees were cheaper, but I feel like with everything else, it’s the new norm. They also have a great referral program which is nice. All in all, I wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else.

Above and Beyond Animal Clinic is amazing! They have taken care of our fur babies big and small for 20 plus years. Dr Jen and Dr Kayla are extremely experienced and provide some of the most comprehensive care to large and small animals in Redding. With that said, they are truthful, make you feel like family, and are there for you and your animals in time of need. The staff provide “above and beyond” excellent care to all of their clients/patients. We can’t say enough of this practice and are blessed they care for all our fur babies. Thank you!!! ❤️🫶

This animal hospital was not there for me in my darkest moments. They missed clear signs and symptoms leading up to the death of my boy, and when I raised concerns, I was gaslit instead of supported. And not by the doctor but by the front desk lady. The lack of compassion from the support staff was shocking. Leah at the front desk was cold and callous, and seemed to care more about being right and making an example out of customers than about care and compassion for animals and the humans who love them. I witnessed her bully a client for bringing their dog in who had gotten into chocolate and she treated this scared dog mom like she had intentional poisoned her dog. I waited a long time to write this review because their doctor was a good human—kind, thoughtful, and someone I trusted. They got rid of that doctor, which is a huge loss on their part. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the rest of the staff. When people bring their pets to you, they are vulnerable, scared, and trusting you with their family members. This place failed us when it mattered most.
