How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Alta Sierra Veterinary Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Alta Sierra's staff and doctors are very kind and attentive, they listened to my concerns and let me explain (at length) my worries about my dog and they made me feel heard as they addressed each issue I brought up. They provided prompt medical care for my dog and answered all my questions and concerns with genuine care and patience. They provided a recovery plan for my dog and they called a few days later to check in and address any more issues I might be concerned with. I greatly appreciated that. They have an animal chiropractor that has been working on my dog and after the first treatment I saw major improvement in my older dogs (minor) back/neck pain. They were transparent about costs up front, their prices affordable. I have been taking my dog here for the last 4 years and I have been very happy with the care my dog has received. I think the people working there genuinely care for the animals and truly mean it when they say call back for any concern or questions. They also work with a wide variety of animals which was really nice to know.

Changed to Alta Sierra from a different clinic. I have a young Rez dog and an older dog. Both girls are treated respectfully as well as my husband and I. Fair, and explained perfectly how their pricing is and what all options are for. They do a wonderful job at the front desk and I always love it when I get a reminder card and it says ‘by the best tech’! All the Veterinarians are caring, educated and I feel they love what they do! Thanks everyone from Shyla and Gracie ❣️

We love Alta Sierra! Everyone is very nice and kind to the pets. Lola is shy and doesn't like going to the vet (or anywhere else!) but they always show her love and kindness.

Yeah this place is a scam and I would recommend people stay away from here. We moved and out cat we have had for 6 years went missing. Then we got a call that she had been brought in to be fixed and they had scanned her to find our info. Cool we jumped in the car and drove all the way there to get her. Once we arrived we were told the people who found her were waiting and they were requesting we pay half the bill. Bill for scanning her? Oh no turns out the vet didn't scan her until she was already sedated and shaved. The vet wanted $170 to tell us she was chipped and already fixed. The person on the phone told us she had just showed up at their house. That she was healthy? Why didn't the vet scan her before they prepped her? Oh Because then they wouldn't have made the $170. What a money hungry place

Every time I bring my dogs in, we’re treated with kindness, patience, and genuine care. The staff goes above and beyond to make sure my pets feel safe and comfortable, and they always take the time to explain everything clearly. I highly recommend them.
